I'm no expert but Sony used to be a very diverse company with many successful products. Hard to believe but I would not be surprised if the PS4 alone could not hold the company afloat.

As a companion to PS4 of XBOX ONE Yes. By itself? Yes. We already have Pikmin, Wonderful 101 and NSMB.
The upcoming exclusives for the WiiU (both casual and hard core) are too strong to let sit. Project X, Bayanetta 2, SMASH, Zelda and Mario are too good (in theory) to pass up.
