Well it's selling to developers primarily at this point why shouldn't it? I could even imagine that more developers want it now that Facebook aquired it ...because they think the platform as a whole and of course the chances of success will be bigger.
I'm not quite sure whether 60fps would be a good fit for this game and it's cinematic tone ...but I guess it would be necessary just to prevent the trolls from bashing it.
Since noone had powers before the explosion of the Ray Sphere in IF1 you don't have to worry about a medievil InFamous ;)
I am not worried about these layoffs, I think that all this shows that Sony is
1.) aiming for high quality in their games
2.) not rushing anything out
3.) seriously trying to make profits again
I could imagine that Guerilla Games will be next if their new IP isn't fulfilling expectations ...Shadow Fall did good but we all know that it could have been much better in many departments. Just make sure you don't lose the wrong people, I'm sure...
^And it's good that Sony is taking action to keep the business afloat. If that means laying people off then so be it. In this case, it's not a layoff though - he left on his own will.
Trolls seem to love these kind of news.
I played through it 3,5 times and would play it again on PS4 especially if all DLC's are included. So this should be a clear "yes" for pretty much every PS4 owner, especially for those who didn't have the chance to play it yet.
Wtf is he serious? Developing LoL instead of UC4? One of them pushing industry boundaries and the other being a monotoneous F2P clickfest full of immature nerdkids. I know what I would want to do.
And he probably should be fired if he's that uninformed about his product range. I really hope (and somehow think) that this is true but I won't believe it until I see it.
The Occulus execs that got the 2 billion dollar cheque should refund the backers from their own pockets in my opninon ..thanks to them this success was possible in the first place. I would be pretty pissed if my money was used like this.
It's kinda spoiling the surprise but also cool that they revealed the following (especially Deus Ex):
TBA
Next-gen Hitman
Next-gen Deus-Ex
Next-gen Tomb Raider
Hitman GO [Mobile]
Final Fantasy Agito [Mobile]
Final Fantasy XV [PS4, XBOX ONE]
Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix [PS3]
Kingdom Hearts III [PS4, XBOX ONE]
Well I think it should as Facebook wouldn't have handed over 2 bilion dollars without making sure that they are in charge of it's evolution. And since Facebook is not really known for it's interest in gaming I fear that Occulus' primary focus will be where the money lies ...and that's certainly not gaming if you look at the big picture.
"Exclusive “first party” VR software though will always stay on PS4 obviously, which I think could be a game changer."
I certainly hope so ...I'm not interested in Morpheus if there are no good games for it where VR makes actually sense. PC support would make me instantly buy it though.
Damage control on a very low level, very sad if true.
It's time that some of his rumors become true. I don't know whether I should believe him.
I know people who deleted Whatsapp after Facebook aquired them. People have valid reasons for concerns.
"I guess they were satisfied with where Facebook wanted to take the tech and the money was too good. "
Or it was the 2.000.000.000 $ that satisfied them. Honestly, you don't really think they accepted this deal for any other reason do you? I don't even blame, I would do the same, fuck my creative vision just gimme that cream.
I would sign any agreement for 2 billion dollars. Good that Playstation, a pure gaming platform, will enter the VR market soon. Sony must be throwing a party right now, their biggest competitor just went casual.
I lol'd so hard @ the price
I like him (even though I don't play Minecraft), he always was very reasonable and down-to-earth and his recent comments about the Facebook aquisition made me like him even more.
