I'd also say 80% Gran Turismo. GTA would be even better but I don't see that happening, at least not developed directly by Rockstar.

With EA, we can at least hope for Battlefront 3 from DICE or KOTOR 3 from Bioware.

"And our next Call of Duty game will face a more competitive environment than last year. The competitive landscape will likely require us to further increase our sales and marketing investments for our 3 largest franchises, especially in the important holiday season.'"

/facepalm

Instead of increasing development investments they increase SALES and MARKETING ...the only one who's losing are the gamers who'll get an overhyped game in the e...

It should say enough that he's taking the Wii U's failure to reinforce his statements. Of course there's some truth in his words, consumers have only x-amount of cash to spend on gaming and now that almost any device can be used for games, the market share for consoles has dropped a bit. But the demand for high quality productions will probably never be in decline so it's pretty pessimistic to say something like that as a CEO of one of the biggest publishers worldwide.

It's smart marketing, they are announcing announcements for next week now and kill a lot of microsoft hype with it. Next week is gonna be even more interesting. After that, I guess Sony'll just relax until E3 because after the Xbox has been announced it will be hard to surpass the Hype for it. And at E3, the real bombs will be dropped.

I'd rather think that the PS4 is going to be revealed at E3.

From a business standpoint you're totally correct. But Sony needs that money to finance the R&D, the production and the marketing costs for the PS4.

The thing with independant developers is that they think outside the box. They don't have a big publisher behind them who tells them what a game has to look or play like. They can take risks that big studios can't because of business reasons and decisions so it's definately important to have those developers and enough people to support them. But I also wouldn't want to miss out on the AAA-experiences that games like Uncharted or Mass Effect bring.

I could imagine that it'll come out for both PS3&4.
They're probably working on the game for a couple of years now so chances are very high that we'll see it on PS3. But Polyphony is probably the first party studio with the most responsibility (in terms of system selling) at Sony so I'm almost sure that they'll release it on PS4, too.

This monopoly position is what holds back innovation in soccer games. You can't make a successful soccer game without having those licenses and while nobody is able to get those licenses EA can just release minor updates for 60€/$ per year and every soccer fan buys them because he can play with his favourite team. PES is the better soccer game because the devs have to work harder to get the communities attention but most people care only about licenses so they buy FIFA instead. That's...

I really liked Cole in the first game but somehow didn't like him that much in the second. Changing the character was a brilliant move imo that opens up a lot of new possibilities.

Probably the biggest yet, even without Nintendo doing a conference. I can only imagine how many games Sony is going to announce for PS4 since every of it's first party studios is working on a PS4 game.

Now that's keeping it real. They're passing on a lot of sales with that move but stay true to their customers, thumbs up for ShopTo.

^Yes and Cage also said that himself so I don't understand the disagrees.

I didn't mind the QTE's, it's just that those were the most criticized thing in Heavy Rain.

Portable gaming replacing consoles? I don't think so. I rather play at home on a big TV. I probably even play more iPhone/Vita games at home than I do outside.

Never. Rockstar is almost fully working on GTA V right now. RDR 2 will be on next gen so I'd bet on a 2014/2015 release. And if the rumors with Agent coming to PS4 turn out to be true, expect it even later.

A lot of people didn't like the huge QTE-focus. That's also the reason why Beyond: Two Souls will play different.

4777d ago 2 agree4 disagreeView comment

This would be huge. As a console maker you can't wish for more than a Rockstar exclusive these days. I almost forgot about Agent since the last time we heard something concrete wis already 2 or 3 years ago.

They really need to try out something new at this point. Like Naughty Dog with The Last Of Us - and we all know how that turned out. As it seems I might even like it more than Uncharted.

Why? It was perfect on PS3.
