double post.
The thing is, Kojima pulls this trolling and then it'll be BAM! MGS5! awesome guy and a hell of a dev ;D
"can you imagine what the Japanese equivalent of Call of Duty would be? Some kind of free for all anime mayhem with players running around on walls and gutting each other with giant swords with perks and leveling mechanics is what I picture."

Please make this Japan, it'd be awesome!
It's certainly not the usual DMC style enemies O.o
I didn't mean to come across as if I was speaking for fans of the entire franchise, just those apposed to this new take on it.
As for weather or not we'll ever see a return to the old formula, its still a possibility since other 3rd party devs mite want to get on board.
Agreed, but it's the name of the game, sadly.
Some reviewers will give a game a terrible score because they are idiots, others will give it a great score because they are fanboys, and then there's the other smaller percentage (unfortunately) who actually review a game properly, and even then some will accuse them of creating a flaim bait article.
This is why I usually ignore reviews, for the most part at least.
Since the release of the 1st teaser trailer I thought there was reason enough to kill the game off for good, but one day I thought I'd actually give it a chance.
You know, wait and see what the gameplay was like and if the story was gonna bring to light some awesome new secrets surrounding Dante and his past, little did I know... That very same day the gameplay trailer was shown, then the news about Dante's back story being changed and him going from for (Human/Devil)...
Fans of the franchise know what we like, and If we say we don't like Dante's new look, the drop to 30fps, and all the other changes that NT have made, why should we not complain?
If we just sat back and said nothing, this new take on the franchise could take over the current cannon, and we could lose the franchise we loved and enjoy playing since the 1st instalment.
It's ok for gamers who aren't even fans to begin with to start telling us to &...
That's a good point.
Some people would argue that the RPG genre is still going strong, but the majority of RPG titles now are on handhelds and I don't think its entirely a coincidence.
With the exception of Mass Effect and Final Fantasy, a lot of the RPG's that get a console release are largely overlooked in the west. I think the fact that many Western devs haven't made any pure RPG titles hilights the fact that there seems to be little demand...
Yeah I agree. The FPS genre is still standing strong imo, but I think the problem is a lot of gamers are just choosing mp and ignoring sp all together.
Some devs notice this and start focusing on the mp more, leaving the sp as just some tagged on extra that most people playing the game mite never even play.
Games like metroid Prime, Half life and such, have done some incredible things with the fist person look, I think if more devs incorporated some of things...
Agreed.
Kinect is steadily becoming synonymous with terrible games, and I don't think its a coincidence.
I'll admit the thing has "potential" but I haven't seen anything that appeals to me personally yet.
Dark Souls is a great game, but Id like to think the best game ever made would make you cry for other reason than being brutally unforgiving and hard, lol.
That said, I don't think I thoroughly enjoyed playing a game as much as Dark souls, since playing Demons Souls.
That's a hell of a graphical upgrade, If the rest of the game got this much attention to detail it should be awesome.
Glad I didn't pick Shadow of the damned up on release then, I'll have to check it out when it hits the bargain bin though probably worth knowing what all the fuss is about.
I think you may be on to something there Jim.
I know that this was inevitable, still I cant help but get excited :)
This really isn't helping the popular belief that (CoD fanboys are idiots).
Congrats Team Ico! well deserved, Shadow of the Colossus is a masterpiece.
It looks good to me, Id rather have this then Twilight May Cry staring Tameem.
Same here.
What I hate about all of this the most is that now many of the Japanese devs try to "Westernise" their games, but for me the fact that their games had that unique Japanese style was the reason I enjoyed them to begin with.
