In terms of first party content? Yes. Sony is playing the safe game with the PS4 (unlike the PS3) and relying mostly on 1080p and cross-gen, cross platform titles to define their console. Even MS is stepping up their game with their exclusive content.
You're right about that. Nintendo fills much of the void that third party has left for the system. IMO Nintendo's first party catalog crushes Sony's and Microsoft's new gen offerings. I have a gaming desktop and gaming laptop for the third party games.
I also have a PS4 and Xbox One, but only for the exclusives.
I didn't know about the GBC game, but the graphics of this new one looks and feels like anywhere between a SNES and a 2D PS1 game.
I'll have to try this GBC game though, thanks for the mention!
Yet the third party is still bothering with the 360 and PS3, so why can't they support the Wii U as long as they support the shrinking install base of the last-gen consoles? The Wii U, to my knowledge, is more powerful than the 360 and PS3.
A throwback to the PS1 2D gaming. This is going to be really fun.
Given the quality of Sony's first party PS4 exclusives in 2014, that's not too hard for MS. Sunset Overdrive is a really good rival for inFamous, and Forza Horizon 2 wiped the floor sparkling clean with Driveclub.
Quality on the PS4 is lacking as well. PS4's inFamous is the worst entry yet for the IP, and Shadow Fall is the worst Killzone game since the PS2 debut. Knack is a joke, and Driveclub...that game speaks for itself pretty much. Another Motorstorm would've likely been better for Evolution's talent.
2015 might be a better year, but how much? We'll see when the heavy hitters launch. I am not at all convinced the PS4 will be anything worth remembering by the time t...
Most digital purchases on last-gen console are no good on the new console. You would expect your digital investment to carry over from generation to generation, but Sony and MS both prove that a digital future is not so bright like they want you to believe.
My decision is to stay physical with console games, with the exception of the odd digital title of interest...when it's on sale.
Jealousy is pretty much it, that or kids that have never seen a PS1 and the console appears "ugly" to them. This is pretty much nostalgia service, and it looks really cool.
Though I didn't get my hands on one of these, and probably never will unless I am willing to blow money with a multi-thousand dollar purchase on eBay. Though my black PS4 is still beautiful enough.
Eh, if this collection has a separate list of trophies, I may buy it (used, mind you). The PS3 version I bought when it came out is good enough otherwise. Though I am really concerned about all the double-dipping that Square-Enix has been pushing for this new generation of gaming. Makes me wonder why Square-Enix even bothered with the PS3 at all if they know the PS4 would've been better for the collection, but then again their agenda is to double-dip.
I've said this a...
As long as the Vita is still on the market. Name me a AAA Vita exclusive coming in 2014-2015. Name me a GTA, Elder Scrolls, a proper CoD, a proper Batman, a proper Resistance, Battlefield, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Ratchet & Clank, God of War, Jak & Daxter, Dragon Quest, the list goes on. Will any of these games come to the Vita? The PS2 collections don't count. They are not, to anyone's knowledge, PSVita exclusive. Most of them don't even work as good as they should....
My Vita is never used for cross-buys or remote play. Just the actual Vita games. So in my case the Vita is no companion device per article. That being said, the entire lineup is pretty much what I don't use my Vita for: cross-buy indie titles. Last I checked, the Vita's hardware was designed for high profile AAA titles. We've been given, to this day, a small handful of them and it's been nearly 3 years. Not that this will change, of course. Sony openly admitted defeat with the...
Square-Enix has so many people hyped up for FFXV after so many let-downs in the past decade. They couldn't care any less about fan reactions of their next cheap FFVII release.
It's David Jaffe. Couldn't expect less than awesomeness from him.
PS4: Greatness Awaits...on PS3.
It's Square-Enix. Upsetting their fans is what they do.
Looks exactly like a movie.
We get it, the PS4 is the most amazing console in existence. Doesn't make Xbox One a bad console that doesn't deserve a chance in the console gaming space.
Why aren't you playing your PS4? Nothing to play on it until 2015?
From personal experience, nobody can beat the Blizzard fanboys. They are as bad as all the groups of fanboys that populate the gaming community combined.
Too bad you can't get
Super Mario
Mario Kart
Super Smash Bros
Zelda
Pikmin
Wonderful 101
Bayonetta 2
The next Fatal Frame
Xenoblade
etc.
On a PS4/Xbox One
