How can someone better themselves by wasting time and resources appeasing an imaginary entity?
Since a person's time and resources are both finite, and imaginary entities are not extant to be influenced, practicing a religion is objectively detrimental to both the individual and to society.
"I find it ironic that you are doing exactly what you are accusing others of, inducing your belief on others."
How can you find it ironic? There was nothing incongruous with what I've stated.
"Yet you have the gaul to say 'objectively speaking'"
I am not French. The word you should have used is, gall. There is nothing subjective in what I've said. The institutions of religion have caused the vast majo...
"Good thing this guy never made it to the part where you KILL PEOPLE. God forbid you commit that act in a game."
The hilarious part, is that religious types seldom scruple over violence (especially towards heretics and heathens). Their ire is saved for truly "heinous" acts, such as blaspheming against their imaginary friends, and healthy expressions of human sexuality.
"Why is that?"
Religions (all of them) are institutionalized ignorance. Those that proselytize their faith are actively making the world a worse place to live, objectively speaking.
The religious should be publicly shamed, often and with all of the mercy they have historically shown those which don't share their particular predilection of faith.
Kratos is clearly a nihilist.
Religion isn't turning into a joke, it's always been one...and a bad one at that.
I have yet to see a character in a video game that didn't look and move like it was made out of plastic.
How long will it be before we see cg breasts that don't look like they are full-to-bursting with silicone?
I would also love to see female characters with actual human proportions.
Buy?
Oops, fail!
I intended to make a joking post about the lack of representation for red, Japanese demon-gods who love to dine on human belly-buttons (i.e. the actual mythological Raiden/Raijin), but my internet connection failed as I was trying to attach an image.
I agree that Raiden has been poorly represented by the Mortal Kombat series. The "white-washing" must end!
Not to be a douche, but I think you mean "aesthetically", not "ascetically".
Ascetic - practicing strict self-denial as a measure of personal and especially spiritual discipline
Aesthetic - pleasing in appearance : attractive
Think of me what you will, but I actually like the Deadliest Warrior game. For a $10 downloadable game I find it pretty fun to play with my friends. It reminds me a lot of Bushido Blade. Which is a game in great need of a current gen remake.
...and reported.
Seriously, get the fuck over it people. Only sexually repressed idiots are going to think this is a big deal. Also, you don't have to be a hippy to think that there is nothing wrong with nudity. Only something as fucked up as religion would try to make people uncomfortable in their default, natural state.
Catan was a nice surprise. I loved that game on the 360.
This stinks of a fandom fantasy team-up. Would it be cool if it were true? Sure, but both Capcom and Namco would be risking their IP by associating their games with each other.
While we are daydreaming about versus games that will never happen, I would like to throw my vote in for Tekken vs. Virtua Fighter. T vs. VF would need to keep the respective control schemes for each franchise, but it be great to see how these to very different games would compare.
My personal choice for a modern, big-budget reboot would be Bushido Blade (1997, Square).
I would love to see a well-made 3D weapon-based fighting game that uses a realistic injury model instead of a health bar. Instead of hacking away at each other like unfeeling, wooden mannequins, such a game would depict the effects of pain, blood loss, broken bones, and major trauma to organs and bodily tissues.
I am tired of fighting games where the combatants fight ...
