I figure Apple wouldn't be too long behind Google, who done this with Android 3.0.

This won't be a game changer. Mainly because majority of the best selling iOS games are better with touch controls than a dedicated controller. People rather play games like Angry Bird and Temple Run with their hands than a controller.

I could see games like Dead Trigger, Infinity Blade, Shadowgun, and some of those Gameloft and EA games utilizing this but everything ...

@Giovonni

Legitimate buyers are the ones who go out and spend their hard earn money on a product. There isn't more people taking advantage of the situation then those who wouldn't. Piracy and modding on the 360 wasn't high and still isn't.
The DRM is in place more for profit than it is for security.

Ubisoft a years ago said that their games on the PC were getting pirated 93-95% of the time. This was while they had their always-online ...

Sony said for third party titles far as restrictions goes, its up to the publisher.

If EA's game on the X1 have always online I can guarantee you that the PS4 version of that game will have always online as well.

Yea the online passes(EA one) has been scrapped. I doubt they will bring it back. I think they rather resort to microtransaction and content ripped dlc.

Peter Moore is pissed because if true this will cause harm the company and possible future releases. I doubt the deal will fall apart so long as MS keep supplying the $$$.

Simple, EA nor any publisher for that matter wants the blame thrown on them.

While at the same you might notice no publisher atm is trying to persuade MS to get rid of the restrictions.

Far as the X1 goes, they all are guilty for the restrictions, in my book.

Consumers who don't know any better
Consumers who like to buy the latest tech
Hardcore fans who the next Halo, CoD and Gears or other MS exclusives and time exclusives titles

To be a hindrance to legitimate buyers.

The pirates and hackers somewhere down the line will figure out how to bypass it. Thus proving its just another useless method that doesn't do squat.

Let me guess you didn't even bother reading the article. Soon you saw that the story was coming from Kotaku you thought it would be cool to jump on the Kotaku hate wagon.

Man it some Japanese people will complain about every little thing. SE you can't please everyone so just keep it moving.

EA: Making better games is too hard and requires more work.

EA: Worst games with less work and dlc with microtransaction........PROFIT !!!!

Then they wondering why they are down compared to the year before.

Well you can say goodbye to a complete game, enjoy the cut content label as dlc.

Selling over ~600k copies shouldnt be hard for a title big as this.

Yet not one publisher tried to persuade Microsoft to get rid of the restrictions. Far as the Xbox One goes, they're all guilty in my book.

Steam Box even when it comes out, at most will be a niche product that runs Linux. The downside is that not every game will run on that platform. Sure Valve's first party games will probably run on it but what about other developers and publishers games?

EA simply don't want the blame thrown on them. Imagine if the backlash never happen. Do you think EA would say the same thing as they're saying now?

@Nitrowolf2
I think they got rid of the online pass requirement not because they knew people hated but because they knew the restrictions Microsoft would have in place on its next gen console.

Having a booth outside was sorta silly in the first place. They should had a E3 presentation or booth inside.

4760d ago 11 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yep sadly

Ubisoft should have gave Desilets the rights and previous assets to the game and just let him go if they couldn't eye to eye.

"I thought we would be able to convince Patrice to change his contract"

Also heard that Desilets contract(with THQ) gave him too much creative freedom/control over the game. If true Ubisoft would have little control over him.

The restrictions is whats hold the Xbox One back and a deciding factor for some gamers. If Microsoft can't see this then they are blind.

4760d ago 11 agree1 disagreeView comment

Anti-piracy would lead to more sales of new games. Publishers use piracy as a scapegoat when their games sell poorly.

If Microsoft want to get in the lead they need to remove the restricts and lower the price of console. Sony not only offering a cheaper console but a console that don't have the same restrictions as the Xbox One.
