It's the same equivalent of going to a town hall meeting and then yelling out "I have no interest in being here."
Why go to the town hall meeting if you have no interest in being there in the first place?
Why go into an article or section that you have no interest in just to state you have no interest in it? Just save us the time of playing 21 questions and not comment at all.
Do I feel better now? Nope, since I still didn't get a definite answer to the question I asked.
It would been a different story if you said something along the lines of.... I have no interest in Steam OS because I don't believe Linux gaming will make that much of a difference.
Too early to make the call just yet; only time will tell. We all know Steam didn't get where it was it in a day, it took time. I expect the same thing for SteamOS.
I do wonder what are the next two announcements. Source 2 engine? Wanted sequel to some popular games? Hardware? Announcements about big name publishers who are jumping on board?
Would the Steam Box actually be needed? You could build your own pc or buy a custom build pc and just install Steam OS on it.
What was the point of coming to the article then? It would equivalent to me going to a Legend of Zelda article only to say I don't play Zelda games anyway.
Ranting for the sake of ranting, I guess.
Alright it I'll admit this is not the first time I stuck my foot in my mouth, far as stating the purpose of Steam OS goes.
Regardless the road ahead for this OS/platform won't be an easy one. Valve will have to work to make Steam OS/linux viable platform for major publishers to consider.
HTPC would count as living room machine then again any machine in the living room would count as a living room machine :D
@Monkey Ninja
Notice I said stream game to your tv and nothing more
"You can play all your Windows and Mac games on your SteamOS machine, too. Just turn on your existing computer and run Steam as you always have - then your SteamOS machine can stream those games over your home network straight to your TV!"
You can an IdeaPad for under $989 with better specs than the one mention in the article. You can find the Y400 and Y500 for on sale for $750-800+ and they come with Core i7, 8gb of ram and GTX 750M

Personally I would just buy a laptop on LPC-digital, if I wanted a gaming laptop. They use the same Clevo and Sager part most of the big name guys uses and in most cases cheaper. The only downside you would need a copy of Windows. You could pay $80 from them or just pirate a...
The purpose of this thing is to stream your games from your PC or Mac to your TV.
It may change a few developers' minds but most big name publishers won't shell out the extra money to make their games Linux compatible.
You still need Windows(or Mac) for SteamOS to stream games to your tv over your internet.
You would still need your Windows PC. The steam os machine is nothing more than a middle man that helps you stream your pc games to your tv.
Depending on where your pc is at you could just buy a HDMI cable and connect it to your pc from your tv. The downside to this would be lag.
Given one's internet the steam os can also suffer from lag(not the same type of lag mention above but it's still lag at the end of the day).
This is something MS shouldn't try to use a PR spin on. The evidence is against them. The best they could is not say anything all.
They will be back next year with a new CoD title.
SOPA and PIPA were laws that would've affected us all. Gamers will always be divided "over a game that isn't finished and continues to still have problems to this day."
Mainly because some gamers tend to look past flaws in a game, if its a game they like playing or part of their favorite series.
AngryJoe gave Skyrim a 10/10 in spite all the problems that plague that game.

18 days already passed, you should've responded sooner.
"If you saw a black-based video game news show on Television, wouldn't you watch it?"
Nope, I rarely watch tv. When I do its for specific shows and the news.
Either Gamestop ripping people off or Ouya Inc lost their damn mind thinking $50 for $99 would be a good I idea.
Its not the developers that gives the incentive or intimidation, its usually the publisher. Regardless I get what you're saying.
Its called a double standard. Only one side likes them when it benefit them. Plus men in most situation don't seem to care if a male character is oversexualized. Women however not so much.
They screw most of their franchises up, made them look like quick cash grabs and cancel games that fanbase wanted.
Creating new dlc isn't going to help much. They have a portfolio of games they should be trying put some of these old games on multiple platforms and selling them at a decent and attractable price.
