I'm not sure how anyone can consider this game great in its current state. I think the question is a good question in which I'm a bit disappointed in the game so far. Part of that is due to the roughness of the technical issues hampering the experience. I'm playing on an XB1X and spent a lot of time exploring Night City.

They should do the remastered trilogy with gameplay enhancements and fix all the broken parts of each game especially in #3. They can fix that horrible ending and a bunch of other story choices that didn't have any impact whatsoever. Hopefully that would get us to forget Andromeda and then they can drop #4, a true follow-up to the Shepard story.
Playing on an XBX1X and the frame rate dips as well at certain points. Seem to be running at 30fps for most of what I have played so far. Remember to take off that grain filter and lens flare on the graphics setting. I'm still early in the game but only had two issues so far. A pair of guns floating rescuing that girl in the ice tub and the game froze for about 10 seconds when I changed the graphics setting. Overall, not bad but not great.

As someone who has bought ever XBOX console up to the XBOX1X, I can confidently say that MS, Spencer and his team will never get certain obviously things about console gamers and console gaming. MS did not need a new controller, all they had to do was pack the XBOX Elite controller with the Series X. But no.....include a new controller that's not really that new at all and no where as good as the elite controller. Genius.

Xbox Series X was designed by people who believe in games? Okay, until we play the games this is "hot bunk." The Xbox 1X was also designed by people who believe in games. You can believe all you want but if you don't deliver AAA exclusive games its complete nonsense. To this point MS history with XBOX has proven the opposite.

Obviously you can not see beyond yourself but the reality is that Bethesda sells tons of games on both platforms. I had no intentions of buying another XBOX console but to think that the purchase of Bethesda has little to no pull on gamers apart from yourself? That's just dumb...even for a fanboy.
Finally, someone at MS had enough brains to realize that their exclusive games cannot compete with the competition. It wasn't even close despite the fanboy rants to the contrary. Acquiring Bethesda makes this competition a whole lot closer and better for MS. Those other studio previously required were okay but not on the level of this one.

Hope you aren't just coming to that realization about Phil. He is the major problem with the platform. He has been there from the original XBOX and the same problems from then still exists today and will continue with him at the helm. Just one dumb decision after the next. Proving once again, you can have a compelling great deal in the Series S and a great machine in Series X but without great games, its a serious problem. Next gen power to play Gears Tactics? The bar is real low. No thanks. I'll pass for now. By time they get a game or two worthy of next gen, the Series S will be $199 bucks.
