Your focus is too narrow, it didn't sell because there was a big game that month it sold because there are tons of exclusives people can buy that have both already been released and are upcoming, though that said there was a huge bump in console sales the week GT Sport launched and the GT Sport PSVR bundle was one of the most popular bundles that lead to high sales of PSVR in November.

This isn't true, the retail price not on sale has been 249 and 299 which is the same as Xbox. Second $199 was a sale price during Black Friday and xbox was $189.

The only setback was that PS4 sold out before Black Friday even began at most retailers during pre-Black Friday sales and was out of stock at many places for most of the Black Friday through Cyber Monday.buying spree. And NPD isn't the 1'st to the 31's it's the 25'th.to the 24'th so for the first week of the NPD month it was largely out of stock.

Most multi-platform games sell a little over twice as much on PS4 vs xbox so it's safe to say that other 31 million (or one third) was a combination of exclusives. Pachter can say whatever he wants about it being "late in the console cycle". We're four years in and PS4 just had it's best year ever, 2017 was also easily the best year for exclusive games on PS4. Meanwhile Xbox was on track to have it's worst year ever and also had the worst software lineup of any console in recent history. Nobody cares how many games you bought for PS4... PS4 sold 3x as much software as Xbox in 2017, your purchasing is irrelevant to PS4's success.
That's true, but another large problem is that xbox fans seem to not even care. All you see is from them is saying exclusives don't matter and that 2 or 3 games a year is enough.
It's no surprise that Microsoft does so little when their fans expect so little.
