In America the income tax is WAY lower, and the sales tax is 10% MAX I believe in some states (while other states only have to pay 6-9% salestax.
Europeans are already screwed when it comes to handing over money.
I have the game on the Cube, but hardly ever touched it.
Coincidentally I did play it 2 days orso ago for about 45 minutes against my girlfriend, but we were more button-mashing instead of anything else tbh. And as a single-player game it doesnt seem like much fun.
So... I know the game has MANY fans, but I'm still not really convinced about the game. I do like premise and all the great characters etc, but it's the gameplay that has me scratching my head a bit.

And yeah, gaming has always been expensive, also in the old days of SNES en Magedrive. But unlike then, there is now a WAYYYYYY bigger market for those games, so no reason anymore to have a huge price for must-have games in order to have enough funds to make games that might not make a return...

The genesis/Megadrice controllers was perfect for fighters like Sf2 and Eternal Champions etc. Just a tad too small and light though. But button lay-out and d-pas wise, it was extremely good.
As someone else mentioned, demos are free, but have no restricitions.
For these games you PAY MONEY, but they arent allowed to be as good as possible, due to the idiotic size limit. :(

...I have had the C64, the Amiga, the Megadrive, The SNES, the Dreamcast, Xbox, PC, Gamecube etc.
For me, the Xbox is my favourite console. Simply because it has the most games on it that I really thought were awesome, and in different genres as well.
It has nice SP shooters, M shooters, racing games, rpg's, action games, etc etc. It even has some nice platformers (although not enough and not as good as a Mario Galaxy)

I have absolutely NO interest in a Pro, as I want the black 120 gig Elite. But that is still heavily overpiced (450 euro(!)) and without a bundle.
If they'd release the Elite with these 2 games for 400 euro, I'd probably pick it up, but at the moment, there is no 360 version available that looks interesting to me, price and/or bundlewise.

I will most likely end up with both consoles, but at the moment the 360 isnt worth the money they're asking, and I am still especially worried about the worthless hardware. I dont want to spend hundreds ona console that probably breaks down within a few years, and most likely wont last more than 5...

Anyway, it's good to hear SOny might be able to cut costs and thus maybe produce a cheaper PS3, but we'll have to wait to see if this cheaper Blu-Ray laser will be of equal quality as the current one they use.
If this new laser is poor and faulty and your movies look less good etc, than ofcourse this isnt good news.
EA has given me SSX3, Def Jam FFNY, NBA Street 3, Skate etc...
So they arent all bad. Def Jam FFNY is arguably the most FUN and original fighter of the last 5 years orso... (Too bad EA later messed up with DJ Icon)
...but I actually prefer online gaming without hearing other people yap and moan and swear etc.
I have also never felt the need to use a mic and speak to others.
Maybe in team-based MP it would be handy, but when I played Battlefield 2, I really just grabbed my sniperrifle, found a good spot for me to hide, and I just helped my teammates from there. I never needed to talk, or follow commands. :)
Gawd... I loved Battlefield 2 :) Great game, poor EA servers.
... but I just wanna sit on top of a high building with a sniper-rifle, and shoot at these (digital) people in their different bodyparts and just have fun with that.
The biggest concern I have about this game, is censorship. I'm really REALLY affraid some idiot will decide it needs censoring... :(

Same here. I'm really not one for supporting 1 company over the other, cause both will screw you oevr to make more money. As a gamer and movie-fan, I need that both Sony as well as Microsoft do well, so they will compete with eachother by upping the quality while lowering the price.
Neither console 'sucks', but both have their good points and bad points.

...but TBH, my Cube isnt connected to the TV all that often. Usually my Xbox (original) is, and is getting ALOT of play (right now, I need to get it fixed, so the Cube is on)
So when the Cube IS on, I prefer to play some o the other games that I still have lying around and that I havent really played properly yet, like Resident Evil 4 (not even reached the first boos yet), as well as both Zelda games etc...
