For sure, and as of right now 4K streaming cannot offer the same image quality of UHD.
The GPU will be 33% more powerful but there is more RAM and the bandwidth is faster than anything we've seen in console so far and the CPU will be next-gen Zen architecture.
I Know you've been brainwashed by Sony's marketing but a consoles power is based on more than GPU alone
"And that remake from Insomniac as you call it blew the exclusive they made for Xbox One, Sunset Overdrive"
Oh an established franchise with several entries did better than a brand new IP? Wow, what a shock.
Considering they waste time at their pressers with Destiny, CoD and Watchdogs, there could definitely be some improvement on their first party front
Its all about that 400$ price point. Nothing more. They couldn't add more RAM, they couldn't put in a better CPU and they couldn't put in a UHD bluray and hit that 400$ price point, thats why the Pro is what it is. Anything else that Sony says is just an excuse
x86 architecture in the PS4. Its not all that different.
No, most others do not agree. Go listen to Giant bomb, Game informer, Beyond or the Kinda funny podcast, they all say the same thing, the event was underwhelming and the Pro may be the most pointless upgrade in console history
xb1s is just a console refresh. Its happened every console gen since the nintendo. It wasn't an answer to anything. Its just par for the course
So in another two years Sony is gonna release another console? At what point do console gamers get fed up with constantly being asked to drop another 400$ every couple of years?
Regardless of what MS is doing next year, 3 years is too soon for an upgraded console
There was already a CPU GPU bottleneck with the PS4 and its just getting worse with the Pro. This just seems like such a half step. Just upgrading the GPU and not touching any of the other components in the console isn't going to make a huge difference.
If you don't own a PS4, then buying a pro makes sense. Otherwise, I don't really get it
Personally I'm still worried about framerates considering the CPU is essentially the same in the Pro, just overclocked a little more
If you don't have a PS4 maybe or you're all in on PSVR
Uh no, It was a lackluster underwhelming reveal
well its replacing the XB1 so yeah, its definitely the one you'd be buying
" but the reality is that nobody purchases the game for the mods"
For Bethesda games, many many people purchase these games for mods
It really is as simple as this, they work on Xbox, they don't work on PS4. PS4 is more powerful than the XB1 so why can't Bethesda get them to work? Because Sony won't remove the restrictions they need to
Its cool but it also undercuts the value of the PS4Pro
It was a huge announcement but we will see how it plays out considering the PS4 uses HDMI 1.4 and everything I've seen so far says true HDR requires HDMI 2.0. Very curious to see how they get around this limitation
EDIT: seems a lot of people disagree with this but this is what I've found
(Update: Readers have pointed out that Dolby Vision's HDMI controller requirement is lower than I originally reported. As the Astra 2 database points out, &...
Im not so sure
But if 4K streaming becomes the norm that 1TB ain't gonna be enough either
