Yeah, 20 years ago Super Metroid didn't do so hot during the N64 and PS announcements. But the industry, business models, philosophies and technologies have have changed so drastically, it's kinda silly to use that to try and make your point imo. Heavy Rain was a niche title and sold 2 million copies.
Far too often, people look at the previous gen, as if it is some step-by-step booklet. People that want Beyond are going to get Beyond. People that want a PS4 are goin...
Of course they could. As could Sony. As is Nintendo.
GameFly is an expensive, slow, rip off of a service.
Just buy a PS3. Problem solved.
Sony is a making a game console. Microsoft is making an entertainment device that plays games. Are Netflix and other functionality welcomed from either camp? Of course it is. However, when those apps and functionality become the primary focus, games suffer overall.
Haha! Indeed. I went ahead and upgraded my PS3 to a TB drive. Have 400GB left.
I have 65 games I got from PS+. Can't recommend the service enough.
Unless COD has some sort of crazy overhaul, I just don't see it being as big a factor next gen as it was this gen. That's not saying it won't be successful, it's just not going to be the deciding factor. I agree, new IP should be focused on.
That's great!
Now prove it.
They'll change the review score once they get their free DLC codes. They just haven't checked their email yet.
I'm not talking about premises when correlating psychological thrillers to Alan Wake. There are plenty of other games, better games, that accomplish similar feelings from the player. In your earlier comment, I didn't even see the word premise. In terms of that, you're absolutely right. I took no offense in our difference of opinion. Actually, I quite enjoy our back and forth's. I think it shows some of the children on this site how adults disagree.
If you don't see a psychological thriller in those games, cool, doesn't mean they aren't.

Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain, Silent Hill: The Room come to mind. And it wasn't a Hitchcock premise to me. It was a PG version of Stephen King's The Dark Half.
That depends on your view. Seeing the games played by the Furies, the scale of the environments and battles. As a guy who owns and has beat every GoW game, I was very satisfied with the game. And online MP is like a bloody PowerStone!
Nothing disappointing about Ascension imo. Fun game is fun.
Episodic was nothing new, but their execution was really well done. I like how they treated it like a TV series. I was really never creeped out or scared, it just didn't have that affect on me. As far as combat, it was pretty standard, although using the flashlight to weaken the enemies first was new. I played and beat it, I just was expecting more. Particularly with the amount of talk/hype it received.
What did it do differently? To me, it was your run of the mill TPS only you used flares and a flashlight.
First thing that springs to mind is...it's the PS4 version. Second? Share. Third? I'm getting a PS4 regardless, so why not get the version of the game for the console I'll be playing?
If it's on PS3 AND PS4...I'm getting the PS4 version. Nice that those who can't jump right into a new console, don't have to miss out on some of the titles.
Completely agree. Set dev standards for the platform.
