Sadly, some are well informed but still support it.
@krib, You're way too focused on being able to say "both sides" rather than calling out GaaS. I'm sorry a free to play game got your knickers in a twist, but we're talking a shift in the industry. Time to set aside the xbox flag and be a gamer.
As evidenced by your switch to GaaS. Come on. You're milking your consumers and you well know the core gamers hate it, but you're willing to risk losing our sales because of the extra cash you'll make from the more naïve casuals.
No, it's not raining, you're peeing on my leg.
You get a few more pixels on multiplats and all you have to give up are a constant flow of some of the best games this gen.
I saw some youtubers like rgt85 and dreamcastguy saying this might be scam and showed some pretty telling points as to why.
I'll wait until official release and then buy one if the reviews are good.
It was selling more up until a little over a year ago. 360 did get a nice bump in sales thanks to RROD along with the benefit of no competition for a year. I'm sure there are a bunch more variables. But I guess this is why you never hear them say "outpacing the 360" anymore. we used to at least get that instead of actual sales figures but no more.
Captain planet help us if that's the case.
Only the hardcore and fanboys. the vast, overwhelming majority just buy it on the system they already own.
My fear is that their "exclusives" are there to compliment game pass, not the X. Seems that way anyhow if their last two are anything to go by. "what? one's broken and the other unfinished? no worries, you only paid $10 right? but re-up next month when patches and dlc will solve some of the issues. Who knows? we might fix more issues the following month."
from the gaming media, I doubt they really care one way or the other, but it gets clicks. It's an easy way to rile up some people and those people tend to be loud. so you get that magic "controversy" word tacked on and watch the clicks roll in.
ummmm, left behind?
They've hammered the point of the X being more powerful home for months, well over a year. It was the main selling point even before it came out. even last E3 they gave out the T-shirts with "I witnessed the world's most powerful console" and just us over the head with the power argument and it did nothing. They're still in last place month after month, multiplats still sell best on PS4 by a wide margin. The argument has been made and it's been judged by the cons...
Maybe a little yakuza kenzan kiwami if this sells well? please sega?
@PFFT, First the flaw in your argument, and then why even if it was valid, it still doesn't hold water.
Gecko said xbox didn't have any surprises. You saying sony didn't, even if true, doesn't eliminate that statement. His point still stands. A better response would have been to bring up session, battletoads or something along those lines rather than trying for a tit for tat.
Next, your argument is moot as no one was expecting titles like nioh 2 and the fr...
If you were in charge of xbox, wouldn't you? It's the best move you can make right now. They've got the halo/gears/forza coming for their current fans (those will never drawn in new xbox buyers if they haven't already.) and that will hold them over until the next xbox which is where they'll go after everybody that's passed on them this gen. Any new games they put on xbox one won't move as many units as it can on a user base that's only around half of the com...
@thisismyaccount
no jack and dexter but we got little big planet, we got rachet and clank, one just came out. No gex but we got knack, not to mention a plethora of indies.
So I'd say those games are there, they just don't have as big a spotlight on them anymore.
Gotta give credit where it's due though. Seems like they're finally listening to fans rather than fanboys. The fanboys told them that they were losing because of power, but really that's what they were getting beat up on in comment sections by other fanboys. the fanboys told them that halo/gears/forza was enough, that multiplats was all anyone played.
But thankfully it looks like they actually dug a little deeper past the loud voices to get to what their real fans were...
Depends on how you grade E3. Personally I take 3 things into account.
1) presentation. Xbox won this one, I don't think anyone disagrees. A bad presentation can suck the life out of some of the hype I'm feeling for what you're showing and this affected Sony this year.
2) substance. Sony clearly. What did you show/talk about? I mean, showing multiplats to me is justn showing commercials for games I'll buy on my system of choice. you don't get bonus ...
quite the opposite. PS3 truly started to shine during the latter half of last gen. MS seems to have thrown in the towel.
Rightly so mind you. They won't win this gen. they won't even get close. So taking a sep back and waiting for next gen is the best move.
Did you just say you were ignorant of the issue and then tell people to stop complaining and see the bigger picture?
