but Japanese games sell well in all Markets, western games don't really sell that well in Japan.

@343 - I'd say the numbers stack up quite well. This sort of thinking from Pachter is damaging to gaming as a whole.
Look what happened when Japanese developers 'Westernized' their games. It was a travesty. They've now found their identity again and boneheads like Pachter label their efforts with negativity.
Gamers and gaming should embrace diversity in gaming and promote unique and obscure games, where ever their from.

you're either late to the game or very young. The backbone of the industry is single player games. It's what the industry was built on. Yes, multiplayer is great - but single player games are still relevant. This is another case of MS not knowing their ear from their asshole. Shameful Phil.
