The reason why Sony and MSFT's systems work is because of GREAT GAMES no matter how sweet an achievement/trophy system is if the games blow people won't play them. The games on the iPhone are not that great they are small arcade gimicky games no need for those, at the current time there is just no better alternative to Face buttons, it allows for far more deeper games.
Umm there is no guarantee that if Apple held on to Bungie they would have been as successful, remember Halo is what made them famous and xbox was the avenue. It could have very well worked out like it did with Bungie before xbox that they remained a smaller studio.
Given that this company was responsible for some of the worst launches in MMO history there is a very high chance this will fail. Their track record is just not good.
Also on the whole control scheme on consoles the PS3 supports KB and Mouse so i don't see why that can't be an option, after all FFXI supported keyboard controls the only thing that limited it was Square's awful interface.

how can you say they will NEVER make the money back, with a lower price pint, a lower production cost for games (increased knowledge, engines being designed) they will make more and more money on games and will make their money back to say that Sony cannot recover at all is just downright ignorant.
The 360 has been at a lower price point for quite a long time and they still managed to sell only 100k more world wide, at this time with the low 360 price most people that want one have it, Halo ODST is going to sell well but it won't have a massive impact on console sales since people that want Halo already have a 360.

When a studio says "not possible on 360" there is a ton of ways that can be taken, maybe in the state its in it isn't possible, the game would have to be changed for the hardware.

The loss wouldn't be the money it would be the community of developers at Sony. Each studio at Sony benefits from sharing knowledge and tech and other things with each other. Those relationships that Insomniac has are hard to replicate and hard to come across, that is why 1st and 2nd party devs for Sony love them so much.

I don't care if the game comes to the 360 not one bit, in fact I'm for it, (mind you i only own a ps3 and ps3 games) but what I will mind is if the game is delayed on the ps3 to make that happen. What they could do for BC is do the software based bc where they build a ps2 emulator of sorts that people can download for a price, this way those that care for BC get it while not affecting the cost of every PS3 out there.

The only way i can see this game working on 360 if they are tying to deliver what they promise is if it is install only so you have to install it on your HDD to play it, not that this would be a bad thing but imagine if they had to have this game on muliple DVD's that would suck given they are trying to push an open world.
I'm not trying to bash the 360 here just saying that what they are promising is a good amount of detail and variety and its well known one DVD can't fit that...
