Most people actually love the design. You just dont see them write big articles about it because it doesnt generate enough clicks.

If you look at the reveal trailer, it has over 1 million (!!) likes and about 40k dislikes I believe.

There were gameplay in almost every game reveal. And yes, some of the games showed off were sequels , but at least games like Horizon are still relativly fresh IPs. And there were new exclusive IPs announced too like Project Athia from SqE and Returnal from Housemarque.

All Microsoft showed during their first reveal was games that can be played on PS5. Also, they barely had ANY gameplay, only trailers, and the show lasted for 27 minutes. You must seriously be blind to thin...

Going for digital only

To me, this is the best console design they’ve had yet. I love it.

And how would you know that? :P

Because?

343, tell me whats so good about SX I/O when they barely have talked about it?

2097d ago 4 agree2 disagreeView comment

But its not 9.2. Are you dumb?

Did you even watch the GDC talk about PS5? Because if you did, you would know its not like PC SSDs at all

2097d ago 3 agree1 disagreeView comment

True. If you go out and buy a 5GB/s SSD for PC and run benchmarks, it will not reach nearly the same speed

Uh no it wasn’t this gen and have never been. Tell me, what more can a developer do with 1.8TF extra? It doesn’t tell you anything about architecture, how the entire I/O is set up etc. both PS5 and X are using RDNA2, but their configuration is different.

So I ask again, what can a developer do with 1.8TF extra?

GamerRN, you are comparing 3.8 GHz SINGLE THREAD agains 3.5GHz SMT. Do you even know the difference? Series C has 3.6GHz SMT. Only 100mhz difference. SMT will be next standard for next-gen games.

The raw power differences between Xbox Series X and PS5 is so small that you wouldn’t even notice the difference. And I think you are underestimating how big difference there are between the two SSDs. Why would Sony opt in for a 5GB/s SSD if it did the same as 2.4GB/s SSD in Series X?

TF is not a great measurment of power, so why does it matter?

2099d ago 5 agree1 disagreeView comment

Its not just about loading

Thing is, PS5 does stuff you cant do on PC right now. It has the worlds fastest SSD, a way better I/O design, dedicated decompressor chip etc. There is a reason for why consoles perform better. I bet if you were to go out and buy an AMD CPU, GPU and SSD that has the same spec as PS5 has, it will perform worse.

Bet it could run at 60fps if they would use more time in optimizing

Everyone should watch this game engine developer break down “the road to PS5” event.

Some people on this comment section doesn’t seem to understand the true advantage of super fast SSD other than “faster loading”. Trust me, it’s much more than just that.

Yes, a mod! Nothing wrong with an awesome mod like this? :)
