Gabe has always stated that they envy Nintendo because of them making their own games to their own hardware. This is Valve doing just that. They are invested in this VR business, and for it to take off, evolve and become more mainstream, they know they have to make system sellers. I think they know that they could make much more money if they pushed it out as a normal flat screen game, but they are playing the long game.

But its an stupid argument. Its like that for every game. You need the hardware to play it.
1500$ game? Thats so fucking stupid to say. You can play this at minimum specs at lowest graphics settings, buy a mixed reality set for about 200$ and you are good to go. I would estimate around 800$ + game. But then again - most people have an capable PC or only need to upgrade CPU, GPU or both.
And its not like this is the only good game VR has to offer. Stupid article

And oh, we also need to include an PSU, PCIe 4.0 enabled motherboard with WiFi, casing, vapor chamber CPU cooler at minimum, dedicated audio card for Dolby atmos support and Windows 10 OS? Bet you cant find it.
I can agere that Xbox Series X has the better GPU, but you need to look at the full picture here.
PS5 has double the speed of SX in terms of SSD.

As I understood Cerny, the SSD because of its extreme speed will be able to offload many tasks that RAM usually would be used to.
Games will load much faster, installs will be much faster and who knows how devs will be able to utilize the SSD.
