You can verify the code in-game, not only that sony stated when PSN is back games that require redeem codes or updates will still be playable

I wasn't fussed for x game chat tbh, i've seen friends use it etc at their houses(have alot of 360 using buddies) chatted to people here n there and wasn't that fussed tbh.
However they were using it because 2 sets of them where in different parties on COD.
But yesterday i was talking to one of my PSN buddies on skype while playing MK and he was playing uncharted 2.. it was actually alright in that sense didn't take to much away from the 1...

I'd say they could really do with a new feature or promote some new D/L only titles to boast about on the network like "And with our all new secure network, we've decided to bring something new"..
However i don't think they should mention the hacks or intrusion specifically at all..
Maybe the next game is one of microsofts big announcements for E3..

I liked resistance fall of man(although didn't have my ps3 connected when i first got it/my ps3)..
I felt that resistance 2 was kind of like they just rushed it, made things bigger and even removed a few good features..
Resistance 3 however.. WOW it looks amazing :D they've took their time, looks pretty, kept FoM good features(or brought them back) and yeah :D cant wait!

This isn't a new hack.. it says due to the RECENT intrusions meaning it's down because of what's already happened.
They also stated recently that they will be moving DC universe onto bigger servers so games were more occupied.
They probably found that while moving servers there was some things that could do with updating just out of 'safety'.No big deal

Remember the PS3 version has steamworks and alot of people have actually had issues setting it up and connecting to the PC steam account also..(before PSN went down) just saying, that's probably what the install means.

Chat functionality to me means voice and text, also with friends lists being available im sure that messaging will be there :) Don't hold me to that though, i could be wrong.
