Sony coming in late to the generation would hurt them a lot they can simply just not afford to be a year or 2 late.
The new Nintendo platform is stated for a 2012 launch according to pretty much all the sources.

Oh also DX11 has tessellation which is a VERY awesome thing.
I dont know why so many people still have XP it was a GREAT OS in the day but Windows 7 is also great and makes sense to upgrade now.(Vista was a joke lol)
Well if the rumors are true and the Wii HD uses the AMD Trinity which has stock DX11 we will see it in 2-3 more years.
From what I understand the Trinity would provide enough power to be considered a generational leap from the 360 so its pretty damn powerful and the fact that the Trinity is stock DX11 where as the 360 is DX9 (PS3 is open GL) that should still give you an idea of its power.
