The "shooter-only" label was solidly shaken in 2007.
You should try and make some time for SR2 (if what is said below) and/or A.P.B., their co-op and Xbox LIVE gameplay are where (for me at least) the real innovative gameplay will be coming.
It looks like GTAIV has concentrated more on the story-narrative, while A.P.B. & SR2 appear to be about new gameplay features.
Im thinking APB looks the most interesting in the sandbox-chaos genre.
Thats *very* interesting, i didnt know that.
That just raised Saints Row 2 up a few notches on my "Watch List".
Honestly, between APB, GTAIV and SR2, this genre has much to look forward to.
There are some hardcore fans of this genre -- that GTA still seems to be the peak.
But, there is enough fans of the mayhem sandbox game for more than one title.
Personally, I'm incredibly excited for A.P.B. & GTAIV.
Guitar Hero has jumped the shark.
I played GHII. But skipped GHIII and went with Rock Band.
GH Aerosmith? Sounds like epic fail to me.
Its almost like this forum is filled with people without any games to play...
Microsoft has nothing to do with this. Guerilla is the one known to lie about screenshots.
Thats the reality. Personally, I think we can stop guessing and just wait until people actually start to play the game...
sheesh.
I think people are keeping a keen eye on Guerilla is because they are known liars. People dont like being lied to.
Did you miss the news of the explosion in Digital Download services?
iTunes is the 2nd largest music retailer on the planet, soon to be the first. Xbox LIVE Markeplace has Movies and TV - today.
Half the world's internet traffic is *already* digital distribution of media(!).
Are you guys new to the internet? Ever hear of BitTorrent, Napster, BearShare, IceWire? Zune.net? Rhapsody?
Come off it. Digital Distribution is the format ...
@19.1
The MPAA wants to screw you over.
And, the BDA was throwing around hundreds of millions of dollars to make it happen.
Half of internet traffic **TODAY** is P2P media downloads.
That download traffic has destroyed the audio CD, and is destroying the DVD.
You two can pretend all you like otherwise, but I havent bought a plastic disc in **years**.
I have no interest in dusting off yet another pile of physical media.
Digital Distribution is the victor *today*.
"there are enough good games available in 2008."
Really? There are enough *YOU HOPE* good games available in 2008. As of 01.03.08, there havent been any in 08 have there.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. You should worry about getting one in the hand before you start bragging.
What lag? Sorry, must be you.
I prefer Halo 3 much more than Gears, but they're both great.
They both have 94/100 on Metacritic. So, uhm, the are both clearly terrific, but personal preference for the story, or other nuances left up to personal preference.
The OBJECTIVE opinion of the industry, is they are both as good as anything released in the last 2.5 years.
The SUBJECTIVE opinion is that you and I happen to prefer one over the other.
Are you going to split hairs about 3rd/1st person view? Its an shooting/adventure game, roughly the same genre as SOCOM, MGS, CounterStrike, R&C and plenty of others.
The mechanics are very similar.
@1.2
Well, the professional game press disagrees with you.
H1 97/100
H2 95/100
H3 94/100
GeoW 94/100
All recieved many Game of the Year awards.
Hate all you want, but these are as good a candidate for Best Ever as we've seen in recent years.
1) If you dissolve the ink in solvent, and push it around the case, it will make a smudge.
But it is VASTLY more difficult to totally remove the actual marks than it is to remove your ink-solvent smudge.
Further, look closely at the "after" picture. It is pretty clear a small 3/4"-ish mark, that was poorly cleaned in order to look smudgy.

Why are the before pictures dated Feb 20th, 2008 with this post appearing on ...
That is nonsense.
They took the effort to clean off the actual marks, but left a small smudge of ink-solvent smudge?
The DILUTED ink, disolved in the solvent, would be SUPER easy to remove. VASTLY easier than the actual ink-marks.
Take a close look at the after picture. It looks like there is a 3/4" marker line, that was smudged around a bit.
With access to 2 white Xbox 360's:

@11.1
Their are a swarm of RTS for Xbox 360 in 2008.
Supreme Commander has a 86/100 on Metacritic for a console-based RTS? Thats awesome.
Universe at War: Earth Assault has 77/100 on Metacritic for a console-based RTS? Thats very good.
Then we are going to get Halo Wars from Ensemble Studios (Age of Empires devs). Which will probably end up the best reviewed RTS *ever* on a Console (Ensemble is the king of RTS).
Civ...
