The USA is the largest market in the world. MSFT is dominating in America.

Japan will come around in time.

Why would the company in 1st Place give up? They're moving into the Japanese market by dealing with the Devs/Publishers. They're a global firm, and a relentless competitor.

This article is just foolish. It doesnt cost anything to put a product on a shelf in Japan, and the Gaming Industry is a Global Scale product, no one (Ninty/Sony) would...

Anyone who thinks that is a fool.

MSFT is one of the largest technology firms on the planet, it knows its in for a fight in Japan (as all gaijin products are).

Anyone who thinks that that they arent going to CONTINUE to fight for Japan is a fool.

They've clearly worked something out with the Dev/Publisher in order to get the pre-orders and 1st week sales up.

The Dev/Publisher knows that the game isnt going to sell that well, so they're basically trying to buy their way into the Top Sales Lists.

Its the same shifty, back-alley nonsense that gets crap books and CDs onto the Best Sellers lists.

For instance, in the Book Publishing world, agents from the Publisher will goto bookstores and buy h...

That might make sense, if Haze was anticipated. It looks wholly uninteresting. Medicore and derivitive is being generous.

@1.3

Ask yourself: Who is paying for this? And, why are they doing it?

It is clear that the Publisher/Developer is financing this. The retailer has no incentive to do this with Haze over another title. So, why choose Haze? Because the Publisher/Dev is paying them for this.

So, the second question: Why?

So that they can get Haze onto the sales charts. Frankly, this is just like the CD&BOOK industry do. They BUY THEIR OWN PR...

Uhm, no. They are saying the game is crap, and it wont sell unless they change their policy and accept it back after a week.

They're essentially buying their own product to inflate the 1st week sales numbers.

The book & CD business does this too, and its a dirty trick to make a turd appear like the market likes it.

So, it looks like the Publisher & Developer are looking to *BUY* their way to 1st place on the sales charts?

The book and music industry do this too. This way, they can have press releases about being "number one hit" and such.

Sony is going to do the same thing by releasing the MGS4 bundle: Buy their way to good sales.

And, this is VERY shifty behaviour. Talk about sad.

The problem is that the drive is sensitive to dual-layer DVDs. Nintendo is telling people that they'll clean the drive under warranty to fix it -- but, they are really replacing drives.

In about 12 months, when there are a dozen firms knocking them out in China, they are going to cost $50.

I'll put one in a PC and use Windows Media Center to play them on my Plamsa FTW.

The heat issues were resolved in the middle of 2007. Your tired heat-failure FUD is really really old.

Yeah, hardware shortages.

6664d ago 3 agree3 disagreeView comment

You are 100% correct. You only need to look at sonrus' response here.

We get ridiculous "polls" about heat-failures. We get that garbage about MSFT editing Wikipedia. We get every obscure, off the wall article that slams MSFT.

Its almost as if 47% of the market, 18Million (almost 10 million more than PS3) *doesnt*exist*.

In reality, this 50EUR price cut is a massive offensive from MSFT, and its going to have a serious impact (what happ...

By Sony giving away a MGS4 bundle, they *are* doing another $50 price-cut.

You dont give away your biggest game of the year -- and forgo a Disc-sale -- without properly considering it.

Clearly, they dont want to have to loose any more revenue. And, they have to get the numbers up to keep Konami happy.

Hence the PS3+MGS4 bundle.

The Xbox 360 was first available in November, 2005 - and was not widely available until Q2 06.

AT *best* it is accurate to say 27 months. Not 36 months "3 years".

Are you 8bitjake?

6665d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

clearly it should be, because the author of this blog is in the wikipedia article himself making all kinds of edits that point to his blog and the claims he makes.

Now, he'll probably add some text int he Wikipedia article saying all kinds of ridiculous things.

a warranty length cover all Xbox 360s sold." became " a warranty length covering all Xbox 360s sold"

"Xbox 360, that could cause a" became "Xbox 360 which could cause"

"in use; which" became "in use, which"

(and two longer ones, in the same manner, that I posted below...)

Clearly, this 8bitjoystick guy is an anti-MSFT troll. He's also the blogger who said he had a source inside MSFT...

8Bit Joystick is a blogger-troll.

What is happening here?

Firstly, the IP he identifies is clearly a proxy. Go here and read the variety of things this "person" is editing:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/i...

Secondly, what changes were made to Xbox articles?
