If he paid $80, he must have been buying a close out of the Gen1 device maybe?
The Zune comes in 4 sizes. The Zune 4, Zune 8, Zune 30 and Zune 80 (it is by capacity: #GB btw)
http://www.jellyfish.com/pr...
The 4GB model is $135 @ Amazon.
I have a 1st Gen Zune, and a Zune 8. I cant recommend them enough. I used to have a Zen and a ipod Shuffle, but Honestly, a...
Have a look at the SideKick.
It is *VERY* close to being an almost perfect form factor for a gaming phone.

If the next-gen Zune spec gets a slide-out full keyboard or better a slide-out d-pad & 4 buttons (motion?)
That is clearly where they are going, and they said as much when they sent out the press release about Danger.
MS is going to use Danger Inc. to deliver the next Zune/MS-Phone/Xbox protable.
Have you used a SideKick? They are damn awesome. MS will bring some big resources to Danger's next device, and it will go up against the iphone/ipod and DS/PSP at the same time.
And, IMHO, its going to be a hit.
If they release it under the Zune (or Xbox) branding, and aim it at the 15-30 digital-lifestyle user...
I'll almost certainly buy one.
...
Not going to happen.
What they didnt really talk about is what role Danger Inc. is going to play in this.
*THAT* is the elephant in the room that no one is talking about yet. The next-gen SideKick (awesome btw) is going to be a Zune/Xbox branded phone from MS.
That is going to be the portable gaming play... and it will be a cellphone geared towards the Connected Digital Lifestyle.
It is going to bury the iphone.

*when Sony does the "All Flash, No Substance"
The fact is that Sony has shown *a lot* of games a long time ago and that is the "all talk no delivery", or, where are these games?
Showing "Demos" of games that arent out for 18-24 months certainly qualify as a little less than honest to gamers.
Is GDC the place for that "far reaching" promises stuff? Maybe. Maybe not. But that really has nothing to do with why Sony's...
The GDC is actually the place to tell developers about what features the INXMB will start to deliver features that The Guide offer Xbox 360 owners.
The communication, DLC interface, friend managment, gameplayer rankings, custom soundtracks, personal settings, Achievements, viewing other's games/achievements and on and on.
If INXMB(Guide) features are forthcoming, they need to tell Developers for two reasons A) What are going to be the resources (memory) penalties...
Im pretty sure that the in-game Guide features *is* a developer issue.
They have to know what Community and Communication features will be implemented on the OS level as opposed to on the game-by-game level as it takes place now.
IG-XMB (The Guide features on Xbox 360) is very relevant to developers.
@10.1 --->
Speaking about Resistence in the same sentance as Halo is silly.
Halo == the higest rated series of 1st or 3rd person shooter *ever*.
Resistence? Not so much.
How about we dont care what format a movie disc is?
These MPAA / RIAA executives talk.
Sony, Apple (Steve Jobs is the largest shareholder, and sits on the board of), Disney these companies make these decisions together.
Apple/Disney and Sony CEE/MPAA/RIAA made this decision together... and, they probably had many other Boards of Directors working together.
Disney is admitting this to the PUBLIC, but they have known all along that the MPAA preferred BR.
@19.1
The machine is designed around protecting its DRM. Tell me, where are the PS3 BR rippers?
The machine is designed to protect DRM. From the memory choices, to the CPU. Did you know that the machine reserves 1.5 to 2.5 of the SPUs at all times? Those are believed to be occupied managing the DRM -- even during gameplay.
Anyone who doubts this either hasnt been paying attention or is too young to know better.
During the height of the Napster days, Sony was running off at the mouth *a lot*.
One executive said:
"will take whatever steps it needs to protect itself and protect its revenue streams," "It will not lose that revenue stream, no matter what."
...industry executive admit that the case is about control of "revenue streams"...
Resistence (86) and Killzone (70!?) have both been owned by the Halo Series (97,95,94).
Really, it is the universal opinion of the industry that RFOM and KZ are second rate when compared to the pinnacle of the genre: Halo.
YOU might disagree -- its your right -- but the collective wisdom of the industry says you are incorrect (in the sense that one can be right/wrong about such things..).
Edit, just show you something of interest:

"I hope when RFOM3 comes out the do something ridiculous like 200-500 people online so you could have something like 100 on 100 with a every player in a different category as if it was like a real Regiment of soldiers! "

Care to enlighten us as to which game of the 1st/3rd person shooter genre is "better"?
If you say Halo or MGS you might have an argument. But there are no others.
I'm just astounded that this happens on a game-by-game basis.
What do you do in other games? just listen to children yammer and yap?
Wow that must suck.
Looks like someone needs to tell the guy over at neogaf who is keeping this list:
