If you take the game for what it is, then the story is thoroughly enjoyable.
I would say that the story is a bit over the top at times, but I also enjoyed Rambo 5, even tho Silvester Stalone only had like 5 lines, and the last 5 minutes of the movie summed up the entire film.
I think that the problem with reviews by these bigger sites these days is that they try to treat EVERY game like a gourmet meal. You wouldn't compare McDonalds to a Ruth Chris steak ...
I have said it before, this game is very good. I think for a launch title, on a limited time crunch on a brand new system, they did an outstanding job.
Still working through the campaign, but the MP is mad fun. Definitely one to pass those lazy holiday afternoons and evening playing online.

I noticed a bit of a buzz out the box, but once I swapped the hd and tightened it all up, it runs very quit.
at least make sure the main screw is tight. Before I tightened it, the buzz was really loud, it woke up my wife. lol.

I changed my hard drive yesterday to a 1 gig, and I noticed something that could be helpful.
Make sure ALL the screws are VERY tight. I failed to tighten the main screw with the PS symbols, and the system would buzz so loud. If you notice, in the bracket for the hard drive, the screw holes have rubber padding, I think it's to hold the HD in place for vibration since it sits right above the BD drive.

This theory seems to be very plausible. With PS+, and all the free games that I get, I have written a few games off initially, and when I have to really revisit them, they turn out to be much better than my initial conclusion.
This concerns me. I hope they don't sacrifice their vision to fit the limitations of the current consoles. PS3 treated me well, but this game just seems too big for it.
I think of the differences between BF4 on PS3 and PS4. Maybe I'm just overreacting, the premise looks very promising tho.

While I'm all for keeping a cool head, as I understand that a day 1 purchase is subject to some risk, I still think that this issue should be keep in focus, just as I believe next week we will see similar issues with the X1.
I love Sony, but I am spending my hard, earned money too. At the end of the day, I don't think things like this are to be taken lightly.
That all being said, I will be getting my PS4 early in the AM for sure.
Hope it's something like Colony Wars, I know (Psygnosis), but still on Sony consoles. Syphon Filters could be cool, or if they teamed up with Lucas Arts and did a brand new Tie Fighter/X-Wing game......

Sucks that this is happening really, but I am hopeful that it isn't any more complicated than simple isolated cases.

Always risky being the first one out the gate, but I don't think anyone expected there to be 100% smooth acceptance of the PS4.
Funny thing is, the X1 releases a week from Friday and MS will be under the microscope. Lots can go wrong, and given their recent history since the X1 was unveiled, I would have taken a more conservative approach if I were MS.
All in good fun I guess, all will be on the table in a week so it will be time to deliver.
Such a mixed bag of reviews. This is all very interesting to me. I'll be on this game by Friday for sure, as I have always been a fan of the KZ series, but it's interesting the wide range of scores for this one.
I always looked at the KZ series as a love it or hate it sort of experience. It's its own animal, and once that is understood I think it becomes really enjoyable in its own right.

Title should really read "PS4 Launch Impressions | It Might Be #4TheGamers, But Where Are The Games THAT I LIKE? Because I have been thoroughly enjoying what the system has to offer. And I know, due to Sony's track record, that it will only get better in the coming weeks and months. No worries really.
