Great review! Glad to hear of the fantastic presentation in it! DON'T CROSS THE STREAMS!
I love how people are like "Why do you demean our sports when you play your crappy sports!" when they realize that's the exact thing that they're doing.
The problem is that cricket isn't popular in America, and one would expect a cricket game to do a decent job of explaining the rules, especially if they're going to sell it in the US App Store!
I think so - there's just really so much that the genre can do, I think, and the only real notable games on the iPhone in the genre are free (TapDefense), fast-paced like an action game (geoDefense) or 3D and in space (Star Defense). Everything else just kind of blends in.
That this came out on the DS rather than the iPhone/touch, but at least it actually stands out on the DS rather than being 'yet another' tower defense game on the iPhone.
I wish true happiness could be achieved simply by playing a Geometry Wars-esque shooter. Would make my life a whole lot easier. Or harder?
The problem is that devices like the iPod touch have come in and outclassed the PSP in that regard and there's nothing Sony's really done to try and step their game up at all.
I think I don't think I know what to think about thinking about thinking about this.
Seriously. Nintendo doesn't even need to show up to E3 any more if they're just going to do stuff like the freaking Vitality Sensor.
At the end of life, you die.
Yeah, I'd say this is worth $5. It's from the iDracula guys as well - they're wrecking it on the iPhone so far, aren't they?
Games with strong audio/visual components have always been a favorite of mine. And I love the whole "Asteroids meets Rez" mechanic this game brings.
New Crazy Taxi-esque action for like a buck? Totally worth it.
Words to add to my lexicon for regular usage: badassery.
I'm never going to think of the term brainstorming the same way again after the way it was described in that article. Wow.
That's the one problem with the iDevices - virtual button controls can be a pain. Some games do them well, others don't.
I'm really hoping that with 3.0, someone comes out with a gamepad accessory like there was some prototypes of in the jailbreaking community - not that any game should use it exclusively as I don't want to carry a gamepad accessory around my iTouch all the time, but support of it would be great.
I don't know what it means either, but that "bald cute" does exist makes me feel a lot better as baldness runs in the family. Score!
A man who can't find the time to play chess on his phone is not a man I want to know.
...but a lady who can't find time to play chess on her phone, I think I could live with that.
Yes, all of a sudden becoming a zombie sounds like a great idea. All these materials to zombie more effectively, so I can consume as many brains as I want. It's gonna be awesome. Might as well be on the winning team. Goooooooo Zombies!
*crying* Leave zombies alone!
Probably because Mike Kotick can't find a good way to 'exploit' it like everything else he does. Activision has become such a vile company.
In related news, I bought Guitar Hero: Smash Hits and the Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 in the last week.
