On the default I did, I didn't try any harder. I usually play games on Easy to Normal modes, it's not like I mind the challenge, but whenever I play a game, I just want to get the story and enjoy it first, then I try on harder difficulties, that is if they reward appropriately. That's why I was picky on the controls, it interferes with my enjoyment of the game, because I'm not hardcore gamer, I just play games for their interesting stories and art.
but I still won't pick it up any time soon, I just got KZ-2 and will wait it out until I find one used, can't afford it. first, the author stated that PS3 still needs a good reason to be purchased by a buyer who is still on the fence. Although, he or she is right about this game not being enough of a reason to purchase the console, but what about other games? it certainly looks like a promising game. It has got my interest, and if Dead Space team is developing it, we can be sure to get a cool product. This is like a dream come true for those who can't play GOW, providing the game works smoothly enough like GOW games.

let people have it as a gift for goodness sake. It takes a seriously selfish person/ company to ask for money back like that. Those laid off workers who would definitely need the extra cash during these economic crisis. They are a software giant which makes billions, can't they think of it as a community service or aid? If its little than couple of 100s of thousands of dollars, it would be nice to forgive it, but perhaps if its a big loss than asking for money back would make sense.
:D, I would give it a try. But I remember trying to play COD-4 online, and I had just started the game when I was brought down numerous times and in all those tries I only managed to kill one person! Just ONE! That says it all: I suck at online. I usually don't play shooter games, not these types, but Killzone looked exceptional so I thought I'd buy it, plus I tried out the demo and it didn't seem too hard.
and replay campaign for sake of fun. I never touch Multiplayer, just don't like it for some reason, maybe because I'll get owned too easily ;P. Only my bros enjoy Multiplayer aspects of games.
You make a very good argument. It is very much possible that developers might hold something back that was supposed to have been included in original game and later release it as DLC for more money.

I have played old SF games, but am not a big fan of the series, I'm more into Mortal Kombat. But everyone has been saying that this the best fighting game so far, so I have been itching to try it out but unfortunately there's no demo and no one I know has this game so I can try it out. But if you put it that way, than I guess it wouldn't hurt to purchase. But the last thing you mentioned about annoying boss fight gets me, I get frustrated easily.
I haven't bought the game yet, but is it worth the price tag? Or should I wait for price to come down? I don't even have MK-II, but between this and MK-II which one should I put my money in?
and if 2009 is the year GOW-III sees release, I'd advise them against it. First of all, we have so many cool new releases this year which should suffice. Secondly, GOW-III will be the main highlight if it releases next year and that will give the development team more time to add and refine new features. Though, inside, I want it to be this year :D.
I hope some better director takes up the job.
Since last two (PS2-based) were playable at E3s were they not. It'd be a good idea to let players see how has the game progressed and how it plays.
this gameplay remind me of DarkWatch, the western horror shooter. It sort of had a similar atmosphere in the game.
Those environments look creepy. I always wanted such an environment in shooter games, dark woods and abandoned snow lands make for a creepy setting. Thing certainly need refining but atmosphere wise game looks promising. I hope it isn't canceled and gets back into production.

let's just sit back and laugh at a another ridiculously justified review or comment. As far as I know, GeoW did nothing "genre defining", that its being hailed as king of shooters or close. Sure its fun to play but there are other games just as equally fun. It's funny how 360 exclusives easily get the "best of..." label attached to them when there are more out there.
I would really love to see his new direction with the series, give it a reboot of sort. I want it to be survival horror again, just like how first two games were, even RE-4 retained some elements of what makes a game creepy.
