Just like when Bayonetta sent all other hack-n-slashers back to the drawing board... up until God of War 3 got released, and we all forgot Bayo existed and all the crazy hyperbole said about it. Then everyone came back down to reality and realized it was just Devil May Cry with a chick doing bullet-time. We'll see if this is just another good game from Mikami with overexaggerated previews or not when it's released.
lets see the 3DS put out a game that rivals uncharted 1 first m'kay? (Hell we're still waiting for the 360 to do that, so we can all agree it ain't happening on the 3DS) So far the 3DS has been porting PS2 games and PS3/360 multiplats that never get brought up as "best graphics ever" It looks better than the PSP (and most cases the wii) but lets not get ahead of ourselves kids.
He's produced several (yes several) critically acclaimed franchises/titles. He gets to bitch when (in reality) he's one of the few putting out high-profile games that satisfy the hype it generates (and as a japanese dev, lets be realistic, he REALLY gets to bitch about devs lacking ambition looking at his region), and affects video games and game development many years down the line. If Sakaguchi, Miyamoto, a lead dev from Naughty Dog or polyphony digital has a negative view of the in...
very few of us on earth are so lucky. Which is probably why you disagree with him.
there seems to be a lot more deluded people who didn't play RE5... or any game that came out on the PS3/360. This is just like when nintendo made the claim that noone would be able to tell the difference between wii games and HD console games on a standard def TV, and Nintendo fanboys clung to that talking point until MGS4 and Gears 1 came out.
I love how graphics are now important to the Nintendo camp.
and now they are on the same page as sony, 360, and PC owners. Can wii games start taking hits on their score for looking worse than handhelds? Yeah graphics aren't everything but there needs to be some level of progression shown.
maybe a 7 or 8 hour story that's interesting all the way through? and more levels like the dlc that was released later on? I loved the first 3 hours of Mirror's Edge but the only reason I didn't stop was because I heard it was short. I beat it in 5 and half hours, and sold it.
That every game just doesn't interest every human being on earth? Can we stop being so naive to think that every game should sell like Mario or Modern Warfare? Please and thank you.
ok so you try to make the argument that Sega never tried to give sonic any "cool" friends (I'm one of the few that has never had a problem with Tails, we all know he was just as fun to use as Sonic in Sonic 3 and Adventure 1), then when they do, you make that weak excuse? lame journalism is lame.
the 3ds is cool and all, but are your really gonna argue 4/5 inch low res screen vs a 45+ inch in HD? The 3DS is like the iPhone 4, only people who have invested in the DS's several previous iterations are clamouring for it.
If sony does it, it's doomed. Yet paying 50 bucks to play online and still having to pay for all the extras PSN+ gives you is totally not a ripoff. /s
anyway, looking at how the playstation store and even Home have grown since they started, PSN+ should turn out pretty awesome. half of my friends list has it, and they really like it.
for the PSP2, that thing would definitly turn some heads if you were playing games/taking calls on it at a bus stop.
it's like saying that facebook beats steam just because of how popular farmville is...
the iphone has programs pretending to be games, and shovelware... that's all that's offered.
Nintendo said something similar to this as an excuse for releasing games on par (power-wise) with the gamecube and passed them off as "current-gen". The consoles now are basically what PC's during the Half-life 2 era were, and console devs have developed games that are doing many things more than Half-Life 2. when the PS4/xbox 720 comes out blowing recent PC games out of the water, are we still supposed to believe what this fool thinks?
Devs who push what we t...
how come MS and Sony average higher critical reception than Nintendo? yeah you keep playing the games of yesteryear that I got bored with, I'll play the games of today that are good.
they should've had Jimmy demo it on a huge screen and give the audience 3D glasses. but Jimmy's playing would've probably cause seizures.
Need For Speed (the most recent outing) was a treat that they reworked it but it still wasn't better than Forza 3. We all know GT5 will be a far better driving sim than Forza 3. So how is it not a better driving sim than NFS (which at best is an arcade racer with good physics)? also I'm happy I saw a different E3 where Killzone 3 and Little Big Planet 2 were shown, cause it seems G4 didn't go to that.
But idk, fallon's audience tends to be more entertained with wii sports resort 360. (hell even when Gears 3's trailer was shown, there wasn't that much enthusiasm) an HD, 3D FPS using an 13-button (17 counting d-pad) controller may be too advanced for some to wrap their heads around. Maybe Eyepet or Singstar is more their speed...
I haven't seen many wii games I would seriously put in the same ballpark as MGS2 and 3, Ico and Shadow of the collosus, Zoe 1 and 2, GTA 3 series, ffx, gow series, etc. I've seen Mario's greatest hits wii volumes 1, 2, and 3, a lot of ok games, and shovelware.
they just run right at you or just stand still while firing. the enemies don't seem to want to take cover or strafe while attacking (Halo 1 on the original xbox could do this). Megatextures look great, but it basically looks like Borderlands with bump-mapping. Killzone 2 still looks better.
