After Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, and God of War 3 was released and seeing GT5, I do laugh a bit whens someone raves about how the graphics on most multiplats or 360 exclusives look like it's something never before seen. Yeah it looks good, but Mario Galaxy 2 looks good too... Just sayin.
There is a line at some point, and sometimes a pretty face can totally save a bland game (look at Crysis, and the oncoming flaming from PC Fanboy about how that game is "good"). graphics can be dialed back WITHIN REASON. That why Geometry Wars and Gran Turismo can succeed and Space Giraffe and Alan Wake are bad to kinda meh. It's a double edged sword.
Yeah Wii sports, wii sports 2, Dragon Quest X, Mario sports mix, Muramasa, Dead Space Extraction, etc. were/will be AMAZING games, and I'm the goddamned Batman!

why wouldn't a game like mario sell on the 360. looking at games like Alan Wake, Forza 3, Ninja Gaiden 2, and Fable 3; anything that isn't a military-themed shooter won't sell. That's why MS is still guessing on what to do with Rare.
