I suppose if you aren't playing the game for nostalgic reasons (i.e. for the first time) and expect it to play like modern fps games, the gameplay would seem comparatively primitive. But I'm kind of expecting that as I go in so I don't think it will bother me so much. Good review.

For the same as that ps3 deal ($200), best buy is offering a "250GB Xbox 360 Holiday Bundle - $199.99 includes Fable III, Halo: Reach, 3-Month Xbox LIVE Gold Card".
So $200 for an xbox with a bigger hdd and two of the best games on 360 and 3 months of xbl gold for the same price as a ps3 with 2 decent games and a smaller hdd.

I can appreciate the clarifying of scores. Anytime people see a score below a 9 on a game they like, they tend to go into panic mode.

Watched the whole thing. Man he is like a machine. He makes one of the most difficult, frustrating games look only mildly soul-crushing. Props.
I think people just prefer the social aspect of multiplayer. Singleplayer is fun on occasion, but I'd rather share stories with friends than be told a story. Personally.
This is true of Bad Company 2, but not Battlefield 3...
Just fyi, that screen isn't actually from in game. It's fan made, so I bet there will be 4 players. Though obviously next to nothing has been revealed yet.

I disagree. Halo has always been at the forefront of gaming originality, creativity, and just plain fun. Not to mention it has perfected it's fps mechanics as it has evolved. Though I can't wait to start all over again Nov. 15th!

I think the fact that it's closer to photo realistic than we have ever seen makes up for the fact that the branches don't bend. At least I think that's an acceptable trade off. Imo of course.

I really liked Crackdown 2 actually. The only thing that made it kinda suck is that it was exactly like the first one with only very minor improvements.
Custer's Revenge seems like the modern day equivalent of Rapelay. Not really appropriate in any setting. I'd say both games hit all the wrong notes.

Perhaps primitive wasn't the right word. Unrefined maybe? I was referring more to the level design and enemy AI than the mechanics- which you are correct in saying has become a staple of modern shooters.
