The problem is that the price of a new graphics card costs as much or more than a new console. If you're going to take the time and expense of upgrading the graphics card on a console, you might as well buy a new console.

It's no less real than any other addiction. People can get addicted to anything; drugs, alcohol, food, sex, TV, movies, music, books, social media, etc. You name it and you'll find there's always a group of people addicted to it. I'm not sure why videogames would need to be singled out.
