Bingo! Why is the Switch such a heavily sought after device in Japan? Because finally the Japanese can get a console experience in the palm of their hands.
@blackblades
That's what I was talking about. 1 sku with a 4K player and 1 sku without it.
To be honest, I really can't think of much else I'd want in a PS5 that I don't already have in my PS4 Pro other than just more raw power and make it BC with all PS4 games. Maybe a more refined Dualshock 5 with a longer battery life. Ditch the light bar and glide pad (but keep the internal speaker). . Also, add motorized triggers like what's in the X1 controller.
I think they should offer 2 skus, one with a disk drive and one without (with a bigger hard drive). That way it gives gamers the choice of which one they prefer. I'm all digital now so naturally I would choose the one without.
You sir are an enlightened gamer! ;-)
Yeah kudos to MS for giving 1080p owners reasons to buy their 4K console. I have a Panasonic VT60 plasma that I bought in 2013 and to me, the picture is still gorgeous. I'm not looking to upgrade to 4K until my current TV gives up the ghost. Hell that could be 5-10 years from now.
I agree. However I think what this video clearly illustrates is if you are still using a 1080p TV, the gains with the X1X over the X1S won't be THAT significant. To me that's the biggest takeaway from the video. Having 4K/HDR is what makes owning an X1X worth the cost.
I agree. The differences are extremely minimal. If you are still using a 1080p TV, I don't think the X1X is worth it. You'd be better off buying an S at half the price.
But which cpu will compliment it? Thats what I want to know.
That and it's a REAL generational leap from PS4/Pro, meaning it contains a significantly faster cpu.
LOL you honestly think they're going to announce new hardware smack dab in the middle of fall? That would potentially kill their holiday sales. At the earliest, they will hold a special event in January, like they did for PS4, and then launch in November. I could be as early as 2019 but 2020 is a possibility as well, depending on how well the PS4 continues to do.
@denawayne,
But is there a 500.00 difference? ;-)
The Xbox One released better (and more) games in 2013
Sounds about right. 2019 wouldn't surprise me either.
Dude you really need to look at current 4K prices. They have come WAY down in price! You can get a good 55" 4K TV right now for 600.00. I realize that's still not chump change but it's far better than 2 grand.
Exactly. I love how some act like PS5 isn't going to be a thing and won't be launching in the next couple of years. I'll GLADLY continue to enjoy my Pro on my 1080p plasma TV until PS5 is released. Then I'll make my 4K upgrade. I'm not about to go out and buy a 500.00 3rd party box when we ALL know PS5 is on the "Horizon" (pun intended).
Unless I happen to win one from Taco Bell, I will never own another Xbox until MS shows a real dedicatio...
No
To me that's like saying the Ferrari has the edge over the Lamborghini in all areas except for speed.
not much to Xbox owners.
Agreed. With titles like God of War, Spider Man, Death Stranding, Detroit: Become Human, The Last of Us Part 2, etc still coming, its hard for me to even think about a PS5 right now. PS4 is set through 2019 I believe. 2020 will be the year of the PS5.
