Unless Nintendo decides to join the arms race and develop a console that can compete with Sony and MS hardware, 3rd party developers aren't going to be interested in bringing their titles over. Without 3rd party support, Nintendo consoles aren't going to sell. Yeah yeah I know, the Wii sold a ton. However that gimmick was lightning in a bottle and Nintendo won't repeat it. If you take the Wii out of it, Nintendo consoles have been trending down generation over generation since...
Nintendo just needs to created a device that functions as both a handheld and as a home console. Just make it as powerful as you can to fit it in a 3DS-type console, package it with an HDMI dongle or docking station and a controller. That way you can play it either on the go or at home on your TV.
@avidgamer1,
I'm talking about at the retail level. It's great that Nintendo is selling refurbs at 199.99 online but consumers need to be able to walk into a Target or Gamestop and see that price tag on the shelves.
Also, does EVERY Nintendo-made game HAVE to involve their existing cast of characters? I mean, I enjoy Smash Bros and Mario Kart as much as the next person but would it kill Nintendo to try and create some new IP's that don't inv...
In my opinion Nintendo's best bet is to drop the WiiU's price to 199.99 and sell it as a "companion" console to those who already own a PS4 or X1. People buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo exclusives. Unfortunately they take too long to come out and 3rd party support isn't robust enough to sustain the console in between those releases.
Another issue with the WiiU for me is that it's game library is way too platform heavy. Looking at what'...

Pretty much what I was going to say. If Nintendo wants to continue to compete in the home console market, they need to open up their war chest of cash and join the console arms race. They need to invest in architecture that will be appealing to 3rd party developers so that they can have a robust library of titles to compete MS and Sony. They managed to catch lightning in a bottle with the Wii but once everyone got tired of the motion gimmick they put them up in their closets never to be pl...
If it supports online and 4 player split screen dogfighting, I'm on board! If it's a single player only game, no thanks.
Exactly. That is so unnecessary in these press conferences.
I'll probably buy digital for this one.
Ps4/WiiU.
In my opinion between these two you will have the Lions share of the best exclusives in gaming and you will have all of the great 3rd party support.
I have a PS4 and it more than satisfied me. With titles like The Order, Uncharted 4, Little Big Planet 3, Entwined, Destiny, BloodBorn, ABZU, No Man's Sky, Far Cry 4, Batman Arkham Knight, Infamous DLC, etc. I don't see how anyone came away disappointed.
Like others already said, the one missing title that I thought was really weird was Driveclub. I mean come on Sony! With no next gen racer on your console, how in this world could you not give some time to Drive...
Will be shown at this year's E3, BOOK IT!!
It's not that complicated. The battery life on the PS4 is terrible and people are unhappy about it. What logical argument does anyone need to have beyond that?
I'm playing the beta of Project Spark and I find it boring as hell. I'm not into the whole Minecraft creation software and the games I've tried to play that were made by others were not that good. I'd rather play games made by professional developers.
...and Titanfall. And Plants VS Zombies. And you just wait, Sunset Overdrive will wind up on PS4 somewhere down the road.
Wait, so you think the CGI trailer is shitty, yet you're complaining that the game is going to look nothing like it??
The biggest shocker for me was the FF13 on Xbox 360 announcement. I NEVER thought I'd see that series on anything else other than a PlayStation platform. That really served as a sort of wake up call that 3rd party exclusivity was going away.
Yeah like I said, I understand WHY it's that price but I also understand the power of sticker shock. I'm just saying that I can't see people seeing "559.99" and biting. 499.99 just seems more manageable.
Won't happen!! I went both Years when it was in Atlanta and all I heard developers do was bitch about the heat and the travel distance. I seriously doubt that's going to come back to Atlanta. My guess would be either Vegas or Seattle. It will stay on the west coast.
