Surprised no reviews have been published yet.
Truthfully, I wish reviewers would completely get rid of numerical scores. To me they are arbitrary and provide no accurate measurement of a game's quality. I mean, what REALLY is the difference between a 7.8 and an 8.0? I would rather reviewers adopt a simple "buy," "rent," or "skip" rating system.
I hope he's flat out wrong about Wipeout, Motorstorm, and Mod Nation Racers. Those were among my favorite racers last gen!
I was hoping for mp3 support for custom sound tracks in Driveclub.
Kind of sad that we are at a point in gaming where we should celebrate the fact that something like replay is given to us free of charge.
My choices would be...
1.) Syphon Filter
2.) Dark Cloud
3.) Jak and Daxter
4.) Zone of the Enders
5.) Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver
6.) Tenchu
7.) Legend of Dragoon
8.) Crash Bandicoot
9.) Jet Moto
10.) War of the Monsters
@Maxor,
That may be your experience with Destiny but I can assure it's not mine and not for the friends I play online with. We are having a blast with Destiny.
I'd love to see Sony offer Knack and/or Octodad as freebies for PS4.
Also for software update 2.0, I'd love for Sony to surprise us and give us MP3/CD support and custom soundtrack support (just in time for Driveclub).
I'm going to try out the free Plus version for sure but I'm still not completely sold on it. It looks nice but I'm not sure if I would like it better than Project CARS.
My biggest gripe with Destiny is the lack of private PVP matches with friends. I hope Bungie plans to add this in the future.
Also, I get annoyed having all this money with nothing to spend it on. All of the weapons and armor available to purchase at the tower are beneath what I already have. I could buy new ships and sparrows but what for? To have something different to look at I guess. Same with symbols. Bungie should not be selling anything that doesn't have some...
I enjoyed Rock Band for it's time but honestly, once I got Rocksmith I never looked back. Playing and learning those songs for real is so much more rewarding than simply pushing those buttons.
@Jhoward585
A huge chunk of that 500 million I'm sure went to marketing and probably server set up and maintenance.
Got that right! If any game needs custom soundtracks STAT it's this game.
<shrugs> I don't know. I even checked my TV to make sure it was in "Game Mode" to minimize lag. I'm just struggling to dial in the handling with this game.
I guess it's just me but I didn't like the handling in this demo. Forza 5's handling is perfect. The handling in this demo felt far too "floaty" and I ended up swirving all over the road.
Thats fine. You keep bitching about Destiny. I'll keep playing it.
Don't use your own personal opinion of the game to pretend to be some kind of predictor of the future. I love the game and there are plenty others who do as well.
Criminally underrated game IMO. Especially considering it was a launch title. It's still one of the most gorgeous looking games on PS4 and GG has done a good job of improving it and adding to it since launch. I LOVE using the "OWL" in this game and I wish we could use our "Ghost" in Destiny in much the same way.
No it wasn't. But you have to remember that the console market is very different from the PC market. There is a fine line that companies like Sony, MS, and Nintendo have to walk when designing a gaming console. Of course they want their consoles to be powerful but they also need to be sold at a mass market price AND be profitable. All things considered, I think the PS4 is a very well balanced machine that provide great looking games at an affordable price.
So far the game is reviewing about how I expected. A "good" but not great game.
