The question still stands, why will it never happen? What is your reasoning?

Having played Shenmue to death on my Dreamcast, I understand the nostalgia for a remake or sequel. Truth be told, it was a great game in its day, but time have moved on and I think people would find it too restrictive. There are so many open world adventure games today that it wouldn't have the impact it had back then. Same for the story telling as well. Look at how well games like Bioshock Infinity, Red Dead Redemption, GTAs, etc are telling stories in open worlds.

Why?

Wow. So much anger and hate directed at a company that has done you no personal harm. Or did Miyamoto run over your dog?

Mate you need to increase the dose or stop what you're smoking and chill out a bit before you wind up doing something really stupid. You don't want to end up going Lee Harvey Oswald on Mr Iwata or Mark David Chapman on Shigeru, now do you?

Sorry, I didn't know it was a race.

Who came first in the last race? Was it the 360 or the PS3? Oh wait, they came equal last to the clearly inferior wii in sales figures. Of course, the technically superior Atari Lynx and Sega GameGear won against the monocolour Gameboy, just as the PSP and Vita beat the inferior DS and 3DS. Of course they didnt, but people do like to delude themselves. Personally I couldn't care less as I've owned or still own all of them and c...

Although I can see where you get that impression, I seriously doubt a 13 year old uses reasonably correct grammar and punctuation. Not to mention correctly spells words like Armageddon and inevitable.

In fact, as deluded as he may be, at least he can write a coherent sentence, which is more than what can be said for most posters here. Perhaps deluded is too harsh, maybe incredibly optimistic is kinder.

I call them snipers. They like to have a say without being seen just incase people realise what small minded fanboys that they really are. Sadly N4G is full of them.

In some ways they're worse than the other fanboys that believe that freedom of speech excuses their immature ravings about which console or game is the best and how all others 'sux'. At least these clowns have the guts to speak up and be counted, now all they need is the capacity for rational thought....

Because they're getting bored with sinking their boots into Nintendo and the wii u.

I can't see how you can 'borrow' from another Zelda game. A Zelda game is a Zelda game. All Zelda games have common themes and ideas, from A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening to Oot, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. Be it hook shots, boomerangs, alternate worlds, etc, they all exist in Zelda games regardless of being in 2D or 3D.

For a Zelda game to 'borrow' it needs to look outside the franchise. Perhaps taking inspiration from games like Red Dead R...

That's the danger, focussing on previous successes at the expense of innovation and diversity. Sure, Star Wars is a great brand, but Lucasarts should not have solely focused on it. Sometimes the money trail can lead to a dead end or a trap.

Look at the success Travellers Tales has had with Lucasarts older IPs, Sam and Max and Monkey Island. Lucasarts became a one trick pony and have paid the price.

I would argue that the Star Wars games were the start of Lucasarts demise. Sure, X-wing and X-wing vs Tie fighter were great but that's where the Star Wars obsession began. Before then they were innovators and leaders with games such as Rescue on Fractalus, Ballblazer, the Eidolon, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, etc.

Once they started with Star Wars all this creativity died and they begun to spiral inwards, sucked into a single brand black hole. Rest in piece Lucas...

Funny enough, you can shave both bears and beards. It's easy enough to lather up the bear, but it's a bugger keeping them still when you're shaving them. Sure it starts off all hunky-dory, but then they move and you nick them and it's all 'raaaahhhh' and claws and guts getting ripped out. Still it's something to do on rainy days.

Your basic premise that game developers and publishers are in the business of making money is correct. Pride has nothing to do with profit.

Where I think you're wrong is assuming that FPS don't sell in the wii u and that owners would rather play mario. The only FPS on the wii u is CoD and granted that hasn't been a huge success, but the Wii u instal base is very small and so sales were never going to be great. PS360s have huge instal base to sell to, even if only ...

This does not confirm anything about the supposed difficulty of developing games for the wii u. Fact is that games have been cheaply ported to the wii u and run reasonably well, so it's not hard to code. Problem is they haven't made profits.

It simply is DICE walking a fine line between keeping their masters at EA happy and not offending Nintendo. From EA's point of view they will only fund the game if they are confident to make a profit and the wii u looks shakey...

Whilst not being a fan of Crysis, I recognise the talent that Crytek obviously has. Different strokes for different folks. I know people that love Crysis, just as I know others that don't. The game is what it is and doesn't have to be anything else. Just as halo, gears of war, CoD and uncharted are what they are. I have no doubt that if Crytek was to make Darksiders 3, it would be a true Darksiders game and not Crysis.

It is easier to criticise than create. I wouldn&#...

@stuna1

My apologies. I was wrong to accuse you of trolling. I guess I've developed a negative view to a lot of the posters on anything Nintendo. It's healthy to criticise, but the fanboys on IGN don't seem to understand the difference between criticism and trolling.

Ah, Resident Evil, Luigi's Mansion, Lego City, Harvest Moon are all big titles. So yes, the eshop is packing some big titles.

Don't let the facts spoil a good troll....

Unless you're playing Papa Sangre (and you should) graphics are important in setting the theme, be it simple, cartoony, hyper realistic, etc in games. Relative graphic performance between platforms is not so important, but is a factor for some people.
