Demos are marketing tools, give people a taste of your game and hope they buy it.
@Illusive_Man
My friend got an X1 at launch and now constantly tells me he wants to trade for a PS4. Anecdotes are fun!
Is Forbes making satire pieces now? That's the only explanation I can come up with...but this guy is really bad at it.
Activision wants everybody to move to the new titles when released, they would never suggest something like this.
@Lightning Mr Bubbles
We should encourage them to delay games if they aren't ready to ship, and we should "fine" companies for releasing games too early like Battlefield 4. And by fine I mean hit their wallets with lost sales, because we shouldn't encourage them to release more broken crap by buying the already released broken crap.
1) Don't exaggerate.
2) VGChartz is straight garbage.
3) TLoU was on sale for three days in North America and was the top seller on NPD, it set the 4th highest debut of the year in the UK. It might not have sold 1.5mil like insiderp claimed, but it sold big numbers.
"By doing this, they actually get a higher return on investment, because their investment is smaller, and *they'll sell more on XBox as an exclusive than they would as a multiplatform title*."
How do you figure it will sell more as solely on XBox? Unless you meant that will EARN more because the MS money will offset the lost Playstation revenue, that's a discussion that could have merit.
But as has been mentioned, the new TR line sells conv...
This guy just can't seem to help but chew on his foot regularly.
They are making up a "story" by trying to sow controversy over a joke. It's like the national news over Obama's "art history major" line, people need to grow up.
First, please stop it with that German poppy crap.
Second, I would love to have a mode like this patched in for Second Son. I love going around to zone invasions, but would like a bit more to keep my gameplay going.
Wonder what Singularity is like.
Uncharted took a lot of elements such as exploration and supernatural encounters, but the new TR has been pretty big with trying to match the big "wow" setpiece encounters from Uncharted. I thought the crazy setpieces in TR13 looked ridiculous and silly when compared against the very grim and grounded narrative from the storyline.
According to Uncharted 3, Drake's been doing this since he was like, 15. According to TR13, Lara's been at it a couple of years by the time of the next game? She had some rock climbing and archery and orienteering experience, but combat and facing down death?
I really don't get this news. Exclusive content, be it platform or vender specific, has been a thing for years. I don't personally like it, but this is not in any way, shape, or form new or uncommon.
Destin Legarie from IGN. So yes.
"This paper is amazing, I must looks at it again."
@seraphym
Million a quarter NOW does not mean "the entire duration of this expansion." That number is a bit of an exaggeration, but they lost 800k subscribers this past quarter. They appear to have lost ~3.2mil over the course of this expansion.
Sony has definitely shared in the "timed exclusive" and "on Playstation first" crap (which I really don't like in the first place), but MS and SquareEnix tried to deny the limited exclusivity. For one, Keighly offered his interpretation that it was timed exclusive, and was shot down with "that's not what [we] said", point blank. So given about 2 days of hearing that it was exclusive in perpetuity, I think a lot of people just got really hot-under-the-coll...
The first ME3 ending disappointed the hell out of me. To just completely shrug off all the varying story line branchings and choices, for a stupid conversation and a deus ex machina...it was just deflating. Haven't played through the story since the rework though.
Thanks, was just about to post asking for a list. Agree with GoW II being out of place. It was a bit annoying to have a blatant cliffhanger like that, but I was instantly pumped for 3, and the intro for 3 was far beyond anything I imagined possible.
What's that, Phil Fish hates TotalBiscuit? That's just proof positive that TB is awesome. Go home Phil, and turn off your internet, you're never not drunk.
And lol at filing a "real DMCA" for critical reviews. Many people, including TB before, have pointed out how pointless it is, and the Streisand Effect hurts your bottom line far more than a negative review.
