After this update due later this month, the PS3 will be an even better media player than the 360 than before the 360 recieved the fall update and with the PS3s current firmware.

Some people may question why Sony would release music on another system. Well its quite simple. The artists under Sony BMG contracts would be so pissed off that Sony wont sell their music to more people because it happens to be on a system rivaling Sonys own console.

The format war is only really in America (most americans forget that) so i think its only time the US follows suit.
If they did have to choose sides, BD is most logical. PS3 support, biggest fan and brand base and only HD format everywhere else.
They did tsay the next update will have DivX support so hopefully this update with BD Profile 1.1 will have it and god hope in-game XMB.
But i cant see why not BD Profile 2.0???
If you have an Xbox yu should have a gold membership anyway as theres no other way of playing online which is like the whole point of XBL.
I 100% disagree. PS3 sales have increased alot since the price cut and 40GB. In Japan and Europe, the PS3 is selling better than the 360. Just North America where the 360 is more popular. Blu-ray is winning around 2:1 against HD DVD so obvivously more people are buying BD than HD DVD.
Yes they should definetly give out more PS1 games, but also in time, some PS2 games.
There are alot more PS1 games planned running up to xmas though.
And buy a blu-ray player or PS3 and buy some blu-ray movies. As a team we can end this war sooner.

This is the beginning of the end for HD DVD. If only Universal would go BD or Warner would go BD exclusive, this would end the war for sure. Otherwise, we have to wait just a little bit longer.

I agree with this guy on the whole. I dont think you can consider the Wii a success until around 2 years from now. If they are still selling numbers equal to the PS3 or 360, then i would call it a success. But the Wii doesnt have as much potential. The PS3 has loads of unused power, simulary to the 360 and as those games get even better looking, the Wii will be more of the same.
I think in 2 years from now, sales will have slowed down dramatically and be on par or even slightl...
I dont think its as bad as the article is making out. Just look at the US sales figures and see how much Sony is getting thrashed by the 360.
Home owns but Sony add updates more often than microsfot therefore each update is smaller. If you add up all the new features on the PS3 since the spring update and all the updates that will be in this, you'll find Sony has added a hell lot more stuff in.

Sega should not do this. 3 consoles on the market is enough, there isnt room for 4 console makers just like 2 is enough for the portable scene.
