My two cents on this subject is, video games can be linked to aggression, similar to how people can get aggressive in sports or being stuck in traffic.
Video games however absolutely do not hypnotize or brainwash an individual into committing violent crimes.
It's just as you said there is plenty of other factors that can be contributed to people committing these crimes one of them that's common is mental health status.

I don't know about plagiarism since its not place to say since I know next to nothing about the Buddhism or Hinduism religion and also have not read the Chinese tale Journey to the West.
All I can say is though, all this talk makes me want to watch Kung Fu Hustle.
I'll stick with Sonic's Ultimate Genesis collection thank you.
Ohh by the way Capcom you can go ahead and rot.
I think we've learned from this that the fans actions speak louder then word of mouth marketing.
The game itself is fine as it is, I won't dispute it is a good game.
However it should not be a Castlevania game, it should be a new IP on its own.
Here's a little bit more info on my views of the game as a Castlevania title:

In which I know David Cage has defended the gameplay saying that there was more to Castlevania then Sympho...
A little off topic but, your the first person I've seen with that many bubbles. That's crazy.
@Redempteur put a taunt button in there as well!
Comparing the old Devil May Cry titles to the likes of God of War is your first problem.
Games like God of War and Castlevania Lords of Shadows (another reboot I'm not fond of), you can get away with mashing buttons and lacking finesse with your attacks. Very much like the new DmC title.
There's a reason a lot of people haven't beaten DMC3.
@TheOneEyedHound he was talking about Metal Gear 1 for the NES which was a port of the original MSX version that had no involvement from Hideo Kojima and didn't even have Metal Gear in the game.
Time for me to put in all the other MGS commercials :D

There's new game+, an extra difficulty that is extra hard, and VR missions.

Yup the concept was always "Cut at Will"
Famitsu announced Sunny was in this like a year ago, just didn't have a picture; even Quinton Flynn on his twitter account around that same time said he did a voice session with her voice actress.
Lords of Shadows is a good game but I just don't get the "Castlevania" feel without the music and artwork.
There's a certain style you can tell when your playing these games, if I started playing through Castlevania Lament of Innocence I could tell from that style that it was Castlevania; with Lords of Shadows you just look at and say is it God of War, is it Shadow of the Colossus, is it Patrick Stewart (yes it is Patrick Stewart :D)?
Either...
Most fans of RPG's don't get PS3's for western RPG's
It was a perfect transition to bring the Zelda experience to a portable gaming device, though I must say story wise I was a little bit bitter about the ending. Though its one of my first gameboy games I played when I was growing up so I can forgive it.
@NukaCola
Oracle titles were indeed awesome I wished Capcom did as they were planning originally and have three titles versus just two. Though I sympathize with the development complications they were having.
I was under the belief the UK and US branches of Capcom were also involved with the project. So there would still be the persistent problem of different ideals for game design.
I have a feeling this dispute won't end until the day I die.
I mean comeon there's still websites around arguing about SNES vs. Genesis (Megadrive).
While I greatly disapprove of taking an idea or concept and altering it nearly making the original property almost unrecognizable and mainly just alienating fans to begin with (What is the point?). Capcom has made their choice.
Also your missing a picture of Farnsworth in your comment.
Cool Aksys very cool indeed,
By the way any word on when the PS3 port of BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma is?
Very well said.
