As much as I hope at such an announcement; bear in mind, it's been more then ten years.
Well my hopes for a Ryu Ga Gotoku 5 localization just died (well they were already dead this just kind of put the final nail into the coffin).
Wouldn't say their now kings; they were kings alongside Squaresoft's Final Fantasy and Enix's Dragon Quest; the only thing that's changed is Squaresoft and Enix became one and now they have both fallen off their respective thrones.
It's funny how a lot of people said the SMT series and the Persona series has Pokemon elements in it; when they did it first back in 1992!
How does holding anything exclusive help anyone?
I guess this means that Strange Journey is tied directly to the main series.
Soul Hackers is coming Stateside April 16. Rejoice :D
More power to you I suppose, though its a much greater loss for people who don't approve of the new direction of the franchise since they made it what it was in the first place (Bear in mind that people call DMC2 a terrible game, yet that terrible game still sold 1.4 million copies as stated by Capcom in 2003 [which was the year it was released] and it shipped 1.7 million copies as of 2006).
The same situation can be said for the Castlevania series as well.
Good review, I will correct two things though (minor).
There is slight depth in it in the sense Blade Mode cancels just about out of any animation along with the Defensive Offensive moveset; though like you said no where near in depth as in DMC3 or Bayonetta which is what I was expecting from a Platinum game of this caliber.
Like you said there is no lock on button since they opted for an automatic lock on choice (a poor choice I believe on their part) what ...
Surprised no one has said Skies of Arcadia
Agreed my save log shows 30 hours.
Games like these are about mastering the combat; hell my first playthrough of Bayonetta was 6 hours.
People were bashing it even before it went to Platinum games; they were bashing it as soon they heard it would be on X360; they were bashing it when they saw it was an action game versus a stealth game; they were bashing it when they saw it starred Raiden even though god knows when they debuted Raiden in the E3 2006 trailer of MGS4 people were asking Kojima like crazy if they would be able to play as Raiden in MGS4 to a point where he draw the line and said, "No, now please stop asking ...
I'm still wondering how he has managed to retain all his bubbles personally.
@sidar how the hell can you possibly judge Dante as a character when you've only played the first game that was 12 years ago and still had his personality rough in the edges, and DMC2 which was a drastic serious overtone for his personality.
It is with DMC3 (the best entry in the franchise) and DMC4 you truly see the Dante everyone loves. If anyone is truly a one dimensional character its the new Dante with him portraying the whole bad boy personality where he feels like...
Dude, no it doesn't.
Let me illustrate to you what I mean,

Make good use of the Raiden's Offensive Defensive moveset for unblockable attacks, (the dodge moveset) there's a lot of invincibility time with them, I guess I would technically say invincibility frames; not too sure cause that's more of a term used for Fighting games.
As for rockets your best chance is to try and dodge them using the ninja run or going straight for enemies with rocket launchers first by utilizing the ninja run and doing a quick slash as your runn...
Are you having issues gameplay wise?
Good review,
If I had to complain about anything regarding the gameplay its that there is no manual lock on (what they call it in the game is more of a camera focus [A proper lock on would have Raiden always facing towards the locked on enemy and able to walk around him] and the camera focus doesn't even work with it still switching against targets regardless if your outside its range).
My point being a game like this should never, ever, ever, have an aut...
Don't you have anything better to do?
Care to do a little more elaboration on that? The only real issue I had with the game was the automatic lock on targeting system. I understand a lot of other issues such as limited movesets for other main weaponry and pre rendered cutscenes; though I let those slide slighty since Platinum made this only within 2 years; Atushi Inaba's last comment regarding the experience was he wish Kojima came to him sooner so he could of had more time with it.
Feel free to send me a PM...
Remember Hayter's the kind of guy who gave up half his paycheck for the MGS1 remake Twin Snakes for the efforts to get back as much of the original cast as possible; so I agree with you in saying I highly doubt its an issue over money.
