I would rather be kept in the dark about a game this day in age rather then have what we have now which is just information overload.
Remember the days where you would just walk into a video game store or even blockbusters and just pick a game based off of its coverart?

The magazines really take me back, I remember how excited I would get if one of the issues would come with a demo disc for PS1 or Sega Dreamcast.
One of my memories that really stood out to me was an issue of Nintendo Power and seeing Donkey Kong 64 for the first time, it was then afterwards me and my brother lamented on not having the RAM expansion for the N64.

First game to have a dynamic weather system.
Game that had vocal tracks for any NPC character you could interact with on the street.
Able to play a video game within a video game: Space Harrier, Hang-On; (Ryu Ga Gotoku 5 has improved on this concept by allowing you to play Virtua Figher 2).

Sadly my friend, that is not an easy feat to accomplish.
Yet this article has no mention of the MSX2 games that are actually canonical games.
It's hard to say it like that, since publishers also have some creative control over an IP.
I was told from a friend when Kamiya was originally going to make Viewtiful Joe 3 Capcom's higher up's basically told him he should make the games story be like the Scary Movie series. His response was pretty much, "Just shut the hell up and let me make the god damn game."
I myself backed this project as well as Project Eternity and Torment: Tides of Numenera. I always did respect Inafune for always sticking to his guns.
I seriously think this might end up being a great way for indie game companies to get their company going. I'm all more for the idea of IP's belonging to their respected creators rather than to a publisher (Kamiya seems to be in this mindset as well, which is why Bayonetta belongs to Platinum rather than Sega).

I would personally have to see more of the OS before considering it, just to see how stable of an OS it is.
If anything I would have two partitions on my PC one for gaming SteamOS and one for work Windows 7.
I agree with you, SteamOS was more of a response on Gabe's end to the disaster of Windows 8.

Well technically its a remake...
You can always bypass HDCP through software, in my case I did it for the AVerMedia Center 3D software so I could capture footage that had an HDCP signal however it messed up my capture for composite along with component.
