There's a huge difference between being in financial trouble and not making as much money as you would like. Capcom are very much in the latter category. However if someone were to buy them out. I would want it to be Nintendo.

Nope. It is, they've merged all the game divisions into one. We might end up get a handheld only version of the tech eventually. But as far as a platform its concerned its all going to be switch from next year.

It's aminly down tothe fact that Sony themselves no longer support it with new games. it's basically been kept alive by Japanese third parties like Atlus and indies.
It's on life support. I can't see Sony making another one as neither The PSP or the Vita have been terribly successful outside of Japan. With the Switch looking to replace the 3DS as well as the WiiU. I wouldn't eant to be the company going up against what is essentially a Nintendo handheld...

Sony and MS have just made mid tier PCs that third parties feeel they need to cater to, which holds back all the advances that devs could toss into games if everyone simply gamed on PCs.
Ninty on the other hand are generally ignored so it doesn't really matter what they do with the hardware and devs just make games specifically for it.
Yeah apart from the fact that it does... It uses the best bits. the joy cons are basically updated wiimotes,and the portable/ console thing is the next logical step to the WiiUs off screen play.
