Ummmm. They can't. Nintendo actually own a controlling stake in the pokemon company. It may as well be a nintendo game. That's like saying Ratchet and CLank will end up on the Xbone or Switch. ust because Nintendo don't own Gamefreak does not mean they do not have Pokemon locked down.
Ninty have held the publishing rights to the franchise for over 20 years. thats not going to change.
The head of the studio said a little while ago that they were planning on making a pokemon game for the Switch (NX) at the time. Remember its not a home console in the traditional sense.
Think of if they made a new Pokemon on the switch using the Breath of the Wild engine. An openworld pokemon with the beasties actually inhabiting the world in realtime, playing about in the long grass....

I'd add no installs if using physical media and few moving parts were big pluses as well against the PS4 and Xbone as well.

Sony already tried t a few years ago. There was a playstation phone that could play PSOne games, had a pull out pad and everything. it did not sell very well at all.
Yeah because a console you can take anywhere, id holding gaming back.... The idea of being able to stream stuff to another device ( the main point of the WiiU, is holding it back. Expanding the audience (what the wii did) is holding it back.
Basically making the gamepad what we know it as today (with the help of SEGA) is holding it back....
