Yup that's why games like Frozen Synapse, Amnisia, Terreria, Minecraft, Super Meat Boy, Reccetear, Cthulhu saves the world, Magicka and tones more do so damn well on PC in many cases outselling their console releases by huge margins because Piracy screws over niche releases on PC...
Oh wait PC is the best platform around for niche games and indie devs are hugely popular unlike on consoles.

if you don't care about resolution why are you reading a digital foundry article? And also every screen of R3 I have seen has been 95% brown and if you actually looked at any of the leaked alpha BF3 content you would know it has a lot of blue sky and green along with it's 75% grey.
I am hoping for better optimisation this time round, not that 2033 was that bad. This does look fantastic especially with so many models on screen. The lighting looks better than ever as well.

While there will probably be some physical media it will not be the norm it will be a niche. And it will be more than enough for most people, in fact that it's already enough for a lot of people on the casual facebook/iPhone/flash game portal end of the spectrum is already enough. And some PC gamers have also gone 100% digital as well.
While Internet is currently not as wide spread as it needs to be it is rapidly expanding ...
