Watchdogs was a game that was geared towards consoles. Ubisoft even put a statement trashing pc gamers in the code that turned off the e3 2012 settings. Why do you expect pc gamers to rush to buy a half assed port. According to you Watchdogs is an indication of the health of the whole platform despite the higher profits most developers get on pc.

Look up LinusTechTips on YouTube. He does very good reviews on a wide array of pc components and he also has videos detailing specific builds for a particular piece point. You should be able to build a rig that you'll be more than happy with that will play on good settings at 1080p+ for 4 years or more for that price.

You don't have to upgrade anything. Unlike what you seem to think your pc doesn't magically become weaker. Just like consoles you'll just have to play on lower settings. Notice how at the end of last generation the majority of games just upscaled the resolution to 720p and were in fact sub hd games. The settings have to be lowered on consoles just like a pc that you don't upgrade.

The thing is you get games on steam for such a steep mark down shortly after release, the value of buying on steam far exceeds the console used game market. You can buy a $60 game, beat it in a week and sell it to Gamestop for $30-35. Gamestop then sells that same game for $55. Whereas on the pc you can often find games for $30-40 a few weeks after launch or wait a bit longer and get them cheaper than their used counterparts.

Argentina had by far the easiest schedule of any team in the whole tournament. The easiest group and the never played in areas with the scorching heat like Germany did. Anyone who watches the game all year and not just the world cup, would know that Argentina had the most talent.
