The game was designed for competitive online play - it was a very risky move, but has been proven to be successful because the game is pretty damn fun with friends, and stays alive very well on twitch so it's also spectator friendly - very fun to stream :)
Yes and no.
Firstly, the play style of people on PC vs Console are severely different, any Twitch stream can prove that (especially since i've sunk many hours into this game already on PC and have friends from my stream who regularly share xbox1 and ps4 clips because they're hilarious most of the time) I only state this because I noticed this fella wrote this based on a console version.

Companies are doing anything now to make a quick buck because they realized they've made nearly perfect devices in all realms of gaming (mice, keyboards, video cards, motherboards, etc) so instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, they're turning to means of selling hardware with goodies attached.
Other companies like ASUS have turned to LED's on motherboards and soon to be video cards in an "Aura" line.

I do have to agree with them looking like they're built out of cheap McDonald plastic. It's almost as if you can hear the plastic squeaking a little as it flexes over someone's head.

Yes if you don't plan on streaming. I5's can't perform as well when streaming since there's no hyper threading.
