On one hand, Chocobo Racing GT would be pretty neat, on the other hand a racing game that isn't related to FF with some "deep meaningful" storyline seems kind of like beating a dead horse no one even really cares about in the first place.

Articles like these I think are developed by people who take games WAY too seriously, like it's some life or death situation, that'll make or break our human existence in this current reality.
It's a game - at best it'll be a fun game to mess around in from time to time.
If they'd just "play it safe" by FIRST releasing a solid as can be little plastic box that is able to push out some good high fidelity experiences, and then build on top of that with let's say VR down the road and just take each stride via-baby steps, they'd do well.
I think the problem recently is Nintendo blows it's load immediately out of the gate and sticks to it like it's the next greatest thing since sliced bread while ignoring their shor...

PS4 and XB1 has a firm grip on 3rd party dev because money is being exchanged and each of their little plastic boxes are able to run these new games with decent fidelity - all it'll take is for Nintendo to provide their own little plastic box with some good hardware for once, and shell over some coin to those same 3rd party dev's to join in on the fun, while they have all their exclusives making boat loads of cash as usual.
