I've got to say, that anyone being "surprised" by nudity these days aren't paying enough attention to the mature ratings which clearly describe what the game will contain. Only really surprising "nudity" came from Metroid. In the good old days when there were not ratings ...
Not a single JRPG made cut? Really? No Chrono Trigger or Suikoden? Come on!
Who cares about midrange cards? There are plenty of those on the market ... we need new high end ones as the last couple of generations have been series let downs. At least from AMD.
As it stands i have zero reason to upgrade my crossfire 6990s until I feel I'll actually benefit from doing so. The 290x's are so comparable that I see no point. Give us that 8gb one I saw rumored a few days ago!
My pc is already capable of 2560x1600 but my tv is capped at 1080p. Until the price of good quality tvs drops, most people won't adopt it so game developers won't write their games to optimize it.
I was agreeing with the author up until the point where he called 1080p boring. If you compare a game like the witcher 1 (2008) to the witcher 3 (2015), there's no mistaken the difference in graphics quality. What people are pissed about, is the lack of games that will look as good as this one. You don't hear people complaining that their blu-ray copy of the Dark Knight isn't good enough ...
Also, it's been a shitty year for new games. Only games I bought new ...
I can't wait for the day when people will stop trying to compare the "next-gen" consoles to the overwhelming power of the pc. Does anyone else feel like these articles are simply beating a dead horse?
I'll summarize my thoughts:
1. If want a good reliable cheap product, go ps4 or xbox1. I don't care which.
2. If you want an expensive highly customizable, not so user friendly experience that takes tinkering to optimize, get a pc...
I have a pc that has over $3,000 worth of hardware in it that can do way more than the xbox one, ps4 or wii u. Am I not a real gamer? Of course I am.
If I was 10 years younger and therefore on a budget, I'd probably be all about it one of these consoles.
All that aside, I'd say anyone that plays games is a real gamer. Whenever I see Galaga in an arcade, I have to play it. It is by far my favorite arcade game of all time. If I JUST played this game, I ...
The steam community really let me down today. The whole effing sale I was looking to pick up 2 games, crysis 1 and 2. They never dropped below $22.49 for the two of them plus some side game that I don't care about. Yestersay there was a vote between crysis and 3 other games and 3 games that were already on sale (organ trail, deadlight, 7 days to die) as well COD Black ops 2 that NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT! And those games were voted in. It's ridiculous that I bought crysis 3 for $5 fro...
How is this 300 degrees? This should be 0 to 10 at best.
Not sure where they got $40 from for new PC games too. Most are roughly $50, but some, like D3, SC2, TW3 are $60.
Granted, there are sales all the time for the PC where you can get a year old game for $15 and a 2 year old game for $5. Steam summer sale is right around the corner!
Is anyone questioning that in terms of raw performance, a PC crushes the PS4, Xbox One, and dare I say, Wii U? If so, they're ignorant.
If console gamers are loyal to their franchises, i.e. Mario, GOW, Uncharted, Gears of War, etc. then there could be merit as to why they prefer their consoles over the PC.
As an owner of a very high PC, I will say that I love my PC more than any console I have ever had. However, it is not without it's share of headach...
It was 20% off if you already owned TW and TW2, which I did, so my time value of money is well spent here, since I don't see myself getting a 25% APR investment anywhere else. And yes, I will be taking a day or two off when this game launches, as I did with D3 and DS2.
You could just jump in TW2 and not skip a beat. He has amnesia, so both games feel quite different and any storylines you might've missed in the first one get explained in the second. Granted, it looks like you may want to play the first one based on the witchers in the trailer, since they weren't in TW2, but were in TW.
I don't think that was in question ... And, as far as graphics and settings go, there's no such thing as overkill!
Ubersampling in TW2 totally wrecks my framerate. Drops from 45-60 to 15-20 in demanding areas (opening battle scenes, towns, etc.)
Crysis 3 runs a steady 60 fps for me, which is what my TV is capped at.
No problem with Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3 and Hitman. Sleeping Dogs with the high res images on ran fine aside from when driving. When doing that it was almost unplayable.
Only did the beta for Battlefield 4 which ran around 50ish for me. I hate ...
Drivers 13.12 for AMD have made Crysis 3 run cherry for me. There was one setting I had to put on "very high" or "high" instead of "ultra" though as the textures would go all screwy. Fun game I must say.
Has anyone else found that most games (aside from some not so demanding mulit-plats (stick of truth, dark souls 2, etc.)) run like total shit upon launch? I have found that to be the case with Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3 and Thief to name a few. I'm sure there will be some patch in shortly that will boost those numbers. Whether or not it's a total pain in the @$$ for the AMD developers to get it right or not, is messed up given AMD's stance on development with their Mantle.
Did you read the article? It stated that the $500 R290x didn't run as well as the $300 GTX770 ... Not sure what you mean ...
When I built my rig over 2 years ago, I put in 32 gig of ram and a 2.7ghz octo core that I still have with 2- 300 gig ssds and crossfire 6990s. I dropped quite a large sum to do so but have had no reason to upgrade as I use it with my 60" 60hrtz led 1080p tv. It's total overkill ... but I know I can "max out" any game that come out and it runs every other program basically instantly. Once 4k tvs become viable, I will consider upgrading.
The Witcher 2 and Skyrim came out the same year. TW2 is far superior in my mind. I really can't stand tge elder scrolls series. I need an engaging story which is why the more "open" non-act driven platform of TW3 scares me. Here's hoping they pull it off well!
Also, I already pre-orderered it so I have faith!
