Independent wishes back with financial stability. Means Bungie actually gets to do what they want.
I think this will target Starfield above all other. If this acquisition was in the works for the last 5-6 months then this will go after Starfield in the form of a new IP. In contrast not only will it be available on PlayStation and PC but probably also Xbox. And if the play base exceeds that of Starfield how does that “look”? At any rate competition is heating up.
In contrast I see Microsoft buying time capsules as studios. For example; Ninja Theory joined MS Games Studios in 2018. 4 years later we’re finally seeing something of gameplay. Could we expect the same with all the developers purchased afterwards?
I would only do it if you’re into video games at all.
Also if these were PS5 only then I think we’d be waiting for 2023/24 for completion. Those games were being developed for PS4 long before PS5 was announced. I’m ready regardless.
I’ve become a little crazy about Trophies and Achievements so I’m more then excited about the play hours. Plus this will probably mean they have all of the map build when when they add DLC content. But I like a combination of both long and short games. But huge fan of the first Dying Light.
They forgot the mobile platform where all the so called gamers are busy tweeting instead of playing games.
I beat this game but it involved loosing my Soul to this game for a few weeks. Had a blast with it.
I see Vits point though they can reduce the size of the PS5 by removing the collar popping the current panels give. If they meet at the contour line of the fan vent I still would look really good in my opinion.
Fact remains, if you can afford both just get both. Best of both worlds.

It’s possible people sit on their couch all day inn their phone forking out money on Texas hold ‘em or some slots game. Oh an probably far less motion capture to make cell phone games.

I think what makes Sony’s Acquisitions of late even more relevant is that these Studios have had a recent release to go along with the Acquisition:
Insomniac; Spider-Man: Miles Morales, RC Rift Apart.
Housemarque; Returnal
BluePoint Games; Demon Souls
Microsoft’s Purchase of Bethesda?
Two timed Exclusives that go to PlayStation first.
Returnal is phenomenal especially if you can stomach dying. Cannot wait for what Housemarque has coming next. Probably 2023/24 though.
I’m here trying to play the game of spot the difference.
It’s not all that bad actually.
Which a waste to mention such a stat unless there is a new constant trend. But you’re absolutely right.
I mainly game on PS5 but I was shocked a couple months back I saw a Series S on Walmart shelves so we picked it up. It was originally intended to be our GamePass machine but oddly I’ve been only playing Division 2 on it with a buddy who only has a Series S as well. If I am ever able to get a Series X I will replace my Series S with it and slide the Series S to my son to replace his One S.
I can see Sony’s strategy moving forward. If Sony decides to adopt a similar service like game pass this will be expected to include your live service games as well as third party Sony can strike deals with. I don’t see games like GoW: Ragnorok or Forbidden West on the service though as these are story driven narrative games. And they sell best through retail and traditional purchase. So I guarantee eventually we will see day and date but it’s going to be in the form of Destiny 3 and Last of ...
