Something I’ve felt with RDR2 vs. the first Red Dead Redemption is the different settings and atmosphere. The first one oozed “Old West” charm, and had a Sergio Leone vibe that hooked me. The cactus, the desert, the Mexican touches. The second one feels more like a northern wilderness. Pine trees. Snowy mountains. The setting, the environment just doesn’t appeal to me as much. I guess in a way it’s ironically probably more authentic, and true to what the Old West was actually like. But still ...

My issue with a game like this is not the game itself -- it's an old game that offers a bit of fun but certainly I would not expect much. My issue is with the price. Fine, release a years-old game if you want, maybe some might want to check it out -- but it should be like $5.00, not $20.00. I find Nintendo especially is guilty of this practice of charging way too much for older, mediocre games.

A big possible advantage the PSVR 2 might have is the game library. Assuming Sony does place a priority on having lots of good titles (which is a BIG "if"), they'd lure a lot of buyers in that way. As someone who owns a Quest 2, I will say that the Quest game library isn't a strong point (but the untethered headset and decent resolution are).

I don't think this article is disparaging FromSoftware games, or necessarily questioning the high scores they get. What I read is that FromSoftware games have a design that is not really "reviewable" in the traditional sense: they take too long to fully "get" or finish, or discover, etc. in order to meet review deadlines. Plus, because they need to be finished within a short time, you've got "FromSoftware veterans" reviewing them, which of course isn'...

These are ok and all, but the real jackpot is the AC Antiquity Pack - AC Origins + Odyssey for under $25.00. Now that's a deal.

The biggest issue that I would likely care about, from what I've read, is the fan. I've heard from a few people that it is quite loud, and always running. Here's hoping that they can address that in future fixes.

PlayStation Plus hasn't been "popular" up till now, it was necessary to play online. They have been two different services, really. I don't think it's fair to judge their "popularity" based on numbers so far.

True Colors is a great game for sure. As someone who's played the previous ones, and Tell Me Why (basically a Life is Strange game), I found it to be a rehash/recycling of the same themes, character types etc. of the previous ones. But if it is your first LIS game, it's amazing.

This article begins with the line "I can’t really hear Sifu’s voice." LOL. I'm sorry, your article might have some good ideas but you lost me already with that cringeworthy opening sentence.

The PS Vita hurts because it was (is?) such a great handheld. We may never know why Sony abandoned it like they did but it's a mystery.

I think (I could be wrong) that Valve can and will add later firmware updates that improve battery life. I have read that things like CPU performance/load handling, WiFi use, streamlining the OS and other tweaks can bring better battery life after the first launch. So this should be a temporary problem.

Honestly I'm planning to use mine to go back and replay some of those great games I have on Steam that I finished long ago and haven't touched in a while. Like LA Noire and Sleeping Dogs. Also Galactic Civ III going to get fired up again. Oh and Conan Exiles! I forgot about that one.

I haven’t played this one but the first one was just okay for me. The tailing missions were unbearable, and the story was a bit dry. But the open world and fighting were really good.

I was disappointed with this. I was hoping for it to be a smart puzzler that you’d be rewarded for being smart and creative. But playing it, I just felt like the solutions were random and not intuitive. You have to just try and fail over and over till you stumble on the right thing by accident.

If you’re fighting human NPCs it’s assumed they’re willing combatants. When they’re not (ie. the airport shooting scene in Modern Warfare) then no that’s not ok either. The difference is whether in the game you’re killing a willing participant, ie. a “bad guy.” So there’s a difference (at least in my opinion).

I don’t usually side with PETA but cockfighting is sick and it shouldn’t be promoted or condoned. I think it should be taken out of the game.

This game is amazing now. But one BIG thing that’s still bad: the bugs. So many. Example: I built a kick ass base with landing pads. I’ll be damned if I can get any aliens to land on my base. Another: every once in a while, you log in and “poof” you’ve lost some random but critical stuff, like a couple of solar generators just gone. So they really need to fix these!

I know right, the gaming media always talks like everybody plays every game as soon as they come out.

Some fair criticism, but a bit too low of a score in my opinion. Review is undermined by some pretty poor grammar as well.
