I agree that MP does add more life to the game. Games like metroid prime are kinda like summer blockbuster movies; they are made to blow your mind the first time you experience them and have marginal replay value. Multiplayer games like counter strike and halo 2 rock but in a much differnt way. An amazing single player game is a very personal experience kinda like reading a good book.
BOI so what you are saying is that because it’s easy to develop for they should have changed their development focus?? That makes on sense! Some games just don’t translate well into Multiplayer so why waste time forcing something that just wont work? Some games like bioshock, stalker, mario and metroid prime just wouldn’t be the same game with multiplayer. Metroid is about exploration, tell me how do you do that in multiplayer?
Its like mario; story is irrelevant when the game mechanics are so good and everything is so polished. I want bioshock just as bad as you do but prime will equally good just in a different way. The first prime had little to no story and it was simply amazing. Let’s be honest Nintendo isn’t a story driven game kind of company. They focus 100% on gameplay, which is why when you look at any list of the 100 greatest games of all time Nintendo dominates the list.
The fact that retro is made up of some of the most talented programs in the US might have something to do with it. Oh yeah and help from miyamoto doesnt hurt either.

Bill for once i agree with you! I think drakes fortune will be one of the run away hits for the ps3. Mgs 4, heavenly sword, ff13 and GT5 will be the games that everyone is talking about for the ps3 but drakes fortune is something new so it will win the awards when all the dust settles.
I predict that the hype for killzone has gotten so out of control that many will be disappointed.
It's possible it may silence the critics on graphics (I doubt it though the trailer is cg) but gameplay will still be the prime concern. "The critics" are critics because we played killzone and it sucked. "The critics" are critics because guerilla is a completely unproven studio that has made nothing but crap.
Obviously you don’t read the site or you would be aware of why they are anti Sony. Sony did some real shady things to kotaku for posting a news story. Most of those are great games but flight sim are a niche genre that only caters to a very small audience.
Halo 1 was a defining moment for console shooters and I agree that it should be in the top 10. It is in the top 10 for the same reason Mario 64 is in the top ten; it and it alone sold the system it was for. It’s like titanic the movie; you may not like but it’s the top grossing movie of all time by a huge margin because obviously tons of people do like it. The first time I played through halo I refused to stop and pee or even smoke.

Building it yourself would have saved you a ton of cash! I priced my machine i built at gateway and it was 1000 more than what i paid and the gfx card was poooh. I got the gateway 24" though and it rocks!

The thing is people have played halo3 and not 1 screen shot has been seen of killzone. What this means is that you are being a fanboy and talking out of your arse. Once you have seen killzone gameplay get back to us, until then people keep your fanboy dribble to yourself.
I just finished the game on 360 like 2 minutes ago and all i can say is WOW. The story in this game is awesome!! The finale was over the top, i was very impressed and honestly i am kinda shocked that the game didnt get better reviews.
Hmmm I imagine the say way that monstrous world of oblivion fit. The blueray disc vs. dvd size arguement died along time ago. No game has truely needs a blueray disc as of yet. The only games in the future i see needing the size would be MGS4 due to all the dialog and ff13. Both game if put on dvd could be split onto more than one disc like metal gears 1 did on the ps.
