Agreed - having to upgrade while gauging risk/reward, especially when the cops can take your hard-earned cash ends up being quite a pain for the most part.
If it's any consolation, I maintain a massive list in ascending score order of every single game I ever reviewed and I consult it for each game I review in order to figure out which score I should give it. There's far too much nuance when it comes to video games to just slap a solid 1 to 10 on each and every game, in my opinion.

For example, its fast-paced and challenging combat won us over whereas many similar games play it a bit too safe when it comes to difficulty in order to appeal to the masses which generally works but not everyone will view that as a good thing.

Neptunia ReVerse is a great excuse to get into the series because it's the best version of the original so far but if you already own it on Vita or PC then, yeah... it's a tough sell. I mean, it runs great on PS5 but it doesn't have enough new content to double-dip unless you really want to play Arrange Mode and the fishing mini-game.
